Conservatives are Also Whining About the Democrats Debates

I've notice that part of the meme of GOP whining about unfair debate questions is they also whine that allegedly the Dems' debates have been so easy as this piece in the Washington Examiner does.

Dems hit softballs at candidate forum."

Of course, this wasn't a debate but a forum. But at the last GOP debate as well, part of what Cruz said was that allegedly the first Dem debate with Anderson Coooper had been so easy.

I certainly don't remember that as Anderson Cooper came after HRC on the very first question asking if she'll say anything to get elected. He also really tried and failed to nail Hil-as Amy Schumer calls her-on the emails.

Interestingly, Chris Cilliza is now trying to help Bernie rewrrite history-no he wasn't saying forget the emails, he was trying to say something else. Well that's not what anyone took him to mean.

But what I think the GOP is really whining about is that the Dems aren't tearing themselves apart like all these GOP candidates are. Of course not-the Dems are unified which is why they have a two candidate race where it's pretty obvious who is going to win this.

Even most Bernie supporters don't hate HRC and will support her if she wins.

In a way assessing party unity is simple. The more candidates you have the less unity you have, the less candidates you have the more unifed, The GOP used to be the fall in line party and the Dems wanted to fall in love.

The Dems have had some wild primaries over the years-1924, 1968, Ed Kennedy's primarying Carter in 1980 was not helpful to say the least. Even 2008 was an epic battle between too very evenly matched candidates that was decided very late.

This year the party is more unified than it's been in years, perhaps ever. After all, this is the Democratic party we're talking about. For most of its existence there really hasn't been a Democratic party as such but more like three different Democratic parties in war with each other.

You know:

1. The Northern liberals

2. The Southern Dixiecrats

3 The white ethnic immigrant machine

A truly amazing thing about Kim Davis is that she was a Democrat this whole time-only now is she a Republican. This shows you how long the realignment in the South has taken.

Today's Democratic party then is much more unified than in the past. Even the 2009 supermajority really wasn't so super with all those Blue Dogs.

As Norm Ornstein says, the Dems are now very unified and the GOP is shockingly divided.
