Mike Huckabee Makes the First Call for Paul Ryan to Step Down

Well that didn't take long!

"Mike Huckabee laced into the U.S.' anti-ISIL strategy on Monday, calling on House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) to prevent more Syrian refugees from entering the country without assurances that they can be sussed out from potential terrorist threats in their midst, in the wake of Friday's deadly attacks in Paris."

"If not, the former Arkansas governor warned, the newly-elected House speaker should resign."

"It's embarrassing when a left-wing socialist French President shows strength and determination to eradicate animals who are slaughtering innocent civilians while our President lectures us on the moral necessity to open our borders to tens of thousands of un-vetted people from the Middle East. France has closed its borders and all President Obama wants to do is close Gitmo," Huckabee wrote in his statement, referring to French President François Hollande's declaration that his country is at war and Obama's Monday defense of allowing Syrian refugees to enter the United States.

"Among Republicans, he went on, the new speaker of the House "needs to make it clear that if the President won't stand to protect America from wholesale open borders, then Republicans will."

"If Ryan will not lead and reject the importation of those fleeing the Middle East without assurances that we can separate refugees from terrorists, then Speaker Ryan needs to step down today and let someone else lead," he wrote.

This morning I argued that the Paris attacks will only make the GOP more not less Tumpian.

http://lastmenandovermen.blogspot.com/2015/11/gop-establishment-hopes-paris-attacks.html

Huckabee's rant is just one more piece of confirmation. Ryan for his part, had to promise not to do immigration reform while Obama is still President-and not until the GOP majority wants him to-which in practice quite possibly means not in 2017 either if HRC wins.

We'll see how many GOP candidates-or in Congress-take up this demand.

Hillary Clinton was criticized for saying the GOP was her enemy-in the same breath she also said Iran was her enemy.

But it's clear that the American Right along with the French Right-La Pen, etc.-in a sense are on the same side of ISIS. Both ISIS and the Western Right want us to be less tolerant and inclusive towards Muslims.

If we listen to the Right we will help ISIS step up its recruitment-that we in America and the West hate Islam.
