Hillary Clinton a pro amnesty liberal. Ted Cruz is an anti amnesty conservative. Let's have an election and find out what the American people prefer.
But Rubio is fundamentally dishonest. It's not just his personal finances that suggest he's as Kevin McCarthy would put it'unstrustable'
He is running anti amnesty during the primary then he wants to pivot to pro amnesty in the general. That's why in the Tea Party all Cuban battle royale between him and Cruz,, I'll take Cruz any day of the week.
I heard some pundit on CNN today say that Trump gives the other Republicans a chance to criticize him on immigration. She is wrong in that she hopes to argue that all the other GOP candidates are fine on immigration.
Trumpism is not about one man it's the position of the entire party. The Very Serious Pundits can act like Kasich is a Saint just because he criticized Trump. If you listened to what Kasich said it's that he too like Trump wants a wall.
There is no meaningful daylight between Trump and Kasich on immigration reform. There is no meaningful daylight between Cruz and Rubio.
You know what the real difference is? Rubio and Kasich pretend. That's it.
If Rubio was for immigration reform in 2013, is against it now, and will be for it in the general election, on what planet would Latinos or others of us who favor immigration reform vote for him and hope he's still pro reform once he's in office?
At best you can say that Rubio might be a little nicer on immigration reform if the political winds push this way. But how do we know they will once he's in office? My guess is he'll do a Paul Ryan and table any such plans as this is what the Freedom Caucus will demand.
Greg Sargent acts like it's important to interpret what Rubio means when he says he'll reverse Obama's 2011 executive action for Dreamers. Does he mean right away? Sargent keeps wondering. Why is that? I don't need to hear an answer to know that Rubio is simply anti immigration reform, full stop.
Do you really need more to tell you that on immigration reform, Rubio is simply poison-much as he is on taxes, a woman's right to choose, voting rights, etc. just like any other Republican?
So on the battle between Cruz and Rubio in the GOP I think Cruz deserves to prevail. He's honest about his views and they are in line with the Republican party voters. They may not be in line with mine but I'm not in the party.
