Rubio's Awkward Talking Points

Christie did a great job in pointing out how Rubio kept repeating the same line about Obama.

"The New Jersey governor jumped in, saying: “This is what Washington D.C. does. The drive-by shot at the beginning with incorrect and incomplete information and then the memorized 25-second speech. That is exactly what his advisers gave him.”

"The audience seemed to approve of Christie’s line of attack, applauding loudly as he skewered Rubio for being “scripted” and not “showing up to work.”

Read each instance of Rubio repeating his Obama line below.

"Let's dispel once and for all with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing. Barack Obama is undertaking an effort to change this country, to make America more like the rest of the world."

"Let's dispel with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is trying to change this country."

"Here's the bottom line. This notion that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing—"

This is two fold awkward. First because it gets to the fact that Rubio just gives memorized speeches rather than substance.

It's also awkward in the sense that it forces Rubio to have to sort of defend Obama at the same time as criticizing his Manichuran agenda to remake American into a socialist paradise.

We will see what impact this debate has-let's hope a great deal as it's wide consensus that Rubio has bombed.

Rubio is probably hoping they get that memory eraser from Men In Black to be used on the entire audience."

"I mean I don't know how much of a difference this debate might have, but if NH voters are as fickle as lore plays up... Oh boy"

Never thought I could root so hard for Chris Christie. Whether or not this lifts him up, he's determined to take Rubio down.

To Enten's question: debates can have a big impact. We saw how Obama got hurt after his first 2012 debate.

To the extent that many in NH are still making up their minds it might. Trump lost big in Iowa among those who decide late and part of this may have been his not showing up. He's allowed that it might have hurt him.
