In light of Hil's needed win in Nevada Clyburn was interviewed by Chris Matthews who of course asked him how he's finally gotten past what Bill Clinton said in 2008.
I'm glad how Clyburn answered this: he shut this silly narrative down. He stated that he'd never held a grudge against Bill for 2008 'Because he was defending his spouse. I too have a spouse and will defend her and she will defend me even if I'm wrong. So there was never any grudge and I'm glad to set the record straight.'
Mathews tried to push the silly narrative just a little further asking if he'd be willing to campaign with Bill Clinton in SC. Clyburn said he'd be all for it that it would be great for voters to see this as a picture is worth a thousand words
Thank you Congressman. Clyburn is clearly roused by Hil's Nevada win. He thinks she will win SC 'comfortably'-he's smart enough not to let Matthews pigeonhole him into any exact number -'I'm just going to say comfortably.'
Clyburn sees Hil as doing very well on the subsequent Super Tuesday and the following big Tuesday in a couple of months in March. Then in April he says Democrats will need to come together and those who support Bernie will be welcomed into the family.
