Trump Says He'd Rather Run Against Bernie

Which makes sense as he'd have a better chance of winning:

"If Donald Trump had his way, Bernie Sanders would defeat Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination.

“I’d rather run against Bernie to be honest,” Trump said Monday at a rally in Greenville, South Carolina. “I’d rather run against a socialist-slash-communist in this country, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think it will be Hillary because she’s being protected by the Democrats.”

But later in the rally, he changed his mind.

“Her people told me the one person she doesn’t want to run against is us,” Trump said. “We’re going to have so much fun. I hope it’s going to be Hillary.”

"In the past, Trump has expressed confidence he would beat either Democratic candidate in a general election. At a campaign stop last week in New Hampshire, he said he could not decide which of the two he would rather face."

I have to say his first comment is right. If it were Hillary vs. Trump we'd have a sure thing whereas a A Trump-Bernie contest could go either way.

I know Bernie will claim he'll get some independents and voters we haven't had before but so would Trump. Both of them would also lose a lot of voters they would have gotten before and many would be scared off by Bernie.

I honestly don't know who would win between them.

On no level does Bernie make any sense as the Democratic nominee.

Nominating him will be doing to ourselves nationally what the Emoprogs did to the Democratic party in Maine. Thanks for their willingness to let the perfect be the enemy of the good they ended up with two liberal candidates and Paul Lapage was able to win not once but twice.
