Who Needs Saturday Night Live With Marco Rubio Around?

Everyone is mocking Debbie Wasserman-Schutlz but she brings up a good point. Why is the GOP 'hiding' it's debate on Saturday night?

We were told it was crazy for the Dems to have a debate at night on a weekend-the only reason could be to help Hillary Clinton.

So is the GOP trying to help Marco Rubio who was rising before tonight?

As it turns out such fears are being realized as he clearly had a forgettable night-but one that probably won't be.

His 'trifecta' was just disastrous.

He is being panned as a robot across the Internet.

"Marco Rubio had been surging in the polls, finishing a strong third place in the Iowa caucus and seemingly poised to become the de facto establishment republican candidate whom the party leadership was set to unite behind. All he needed was a strong or even adequate debate performance in New Hampshire tonight. Instead Rubio stumbled out of the gate and melted down on stage in a stunningly bad performance which may cost him everything."

"Rubio said it was a myth that President Obama didn’t know what he was doing, and that he instead was ruining the country on purpose. Then thirty seconds later he said the same line again, almost word for word. Chris Christie then accused Rubio of merely saying the same soundbites over and over. Almost shockingly, in a scene straight out of a Saturday Night Live sketch, a flustered Rubio responded by using the same exact line about Obama for a third time. Not long after, he said it a fourth time. But that was just the beginning of his troubles."

"At one point Marco Rubio insisted that Hillary Clinton is in favor of abortion all the way up to a baby’s due date, an insinuation so absurd that even pro-life republicans aren’t going to believe it. At another point Rubio said that the United States Air Force is smaller now than it was a hundred years ago, despite the fact that we didn’t have an Air Force a hundred years ago. Rubio’s flame out was on par with that of Lincoln Chafee in the first democratic debate, or arguably even worse. And it couldn’t have come at a worse time for him."

I also wrote about it here.
