Politico Tries Again to Revive Tired Biden Hanlet Act

Now the alleged moment of truth is this Weekend-but then Politico undercuts its own narrative with a 'or soon after.'

Before September was the moment of truth now its this weekend of soon after. He isn't going to be in the first debate but of course he'll have no problem catching up in terms of a ground game, endorsements and money.

"He’s finally close. Confidants of Vice President Joe Biden expect him to make a decision next weekend, or shortly thereafter, on whether to launch an epic battle with Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination."

"Several people who have visited Biden recently said he seems to be leaning “yes.”

“Nothing he has heard in the past couple of months has deterred him,” said one Democrat close to the process.

Just like the the partisan Emailgate story there is anything to the Biden is running any day now but anonymous sources that can't be verified either way.

If Biden has heard nothing that has deterred him he's not listening very well. Most of the Democrats I know are tired of his stale Hamlet act and which he'd cut it out.

Yes, he's suffered from the loss of his son but if he wanted to run he should have set up the foundation a year ago. This is becoming self-indulgent and counterproductive to the party.

And quite honestly, now that the sordid, partisan nature of Emailgate is now publicly acknowledged what is the basis for him running?

Martin O'Malley has discredited himself by using Emailgate. But now that the legs have been cut out from under it is this what Biden wants to run on? If not what else is there? If he's such a great candidate why did he last seconds agaisnt her in 2008?

Meanwhile a new poll suggests Democrats are catching on to the fact that this story is just a fake Beltway attempt to troll Hillary-much like Emailgate.

"If Vice President Joe Biden is indeed going to enter the 2016 race for President, new national polling numbers suggest he’d better hurry. His numbers have fallen off sharply in the latest Pew poll, with more than half of his support having evaporated as democratic voters apparently conclude that he’s unlikely to run. Of the points he’s lost, roughly half appear to have gone back to the undecided column, while the other half have shifted back to frontrunner Hillary Clinton."

"Much has been made over the past few months of Clinton’s falling poll numbers, but close analysis suggests that rather than losing support to rival Bernie Sanders, she was actually losing support to a hypothetical Joe Biden candidacy. Biden is not currently running a campaign and continues to say he’s unsure whether he might enter the race, even as he plans to skip the first democratic party debate."

"While Biden had been averaging eighteen percent support in an average of major polls, the new Pew poll says he’s now down to eight percent. Four of that eight percent shifted to Hillary Clinton, while none of it shifted to Bernie Sanders, meaning that Clinton’s lead has now grown to twenty-one points nationally (source: Real Clear Politics). Again this is just one national poll, but it is the latest, and is therefore the most likely to reflect shifting sentiment since Joe Biden revealed he won’t be in the first debate. Other polls will naturally follow, which may show confirming or conflicting data."

Mr. Vice President if nothing you have heard dissuades you let me say something that can't be misinterpreted: we Democrats-me and many I've spoken with- don't want you to run.

Appreciate the work you've done for your country and the partner you've been for the President. But if you wanted to run you should have decided a year ago.

I hear so much about you thinking about your family. Maybe you should think a little about your party.
