When you factor in how discredited the Committee has become, and how good Hillary is at this kind of public testimony I think Trey is the one in trouble.
Even before the utter partisanship of the Committee became impossible to deny it's clear that Gowdy kind of knew he'd be the one on the hot seat which is why he wanted the whole thing behind closed doors.
He would then have leaked just enough to give us a false impression of what happened. But the gig is up on those leaks of his-despite his vow to have no leaks.
I look at this day for HRC as sort of like free air time. Sure they want to grill her for eight hours but my guess is she turns it into eight hours of campaign time.
I would not be shocked to see her poll numbers rise post testimony today.
Lawrence O'Donnell made the point last night that if this were a real hearing no way would this be an eight hour marathon. This will be so long precisely because it's not a real hearing.
In Watergate you had real lawyers take testimony. This is just going to be a bunch of politicians talking-ie, a debate. And who will be the best debater in the building? HRC
Beyond that no facts have changed since her testimony in 2013 though they claim that her private emails have changed something, they haven't told us anything about Benghazi. If they were really interested in that why did they spend so much time questioning Sidney Blumenthal ?
There questions to Blumenthal were mostly about his relationship to the Clintons, about David Brock, etc.
There were 50 questions about the Clinton Foundation and less than 20 about Benghazi.

The main challenge for HRC will be the endurance challenge. They will try to wear her down into saying something that can be seen as a gotcha. It won't work. And she has the five Democrats on the Committee who will have her back.
So it will be a long day for HRC, but it will be worth it as she will put this behind her. After this it will be interesting to see where the Benghazi Committee can go from here.
