Which is no mean feat. Even before the debate most network cable news shows opened with pictures of Biden with handwringing of Will he or won't he?
Last night though Hillary ran away with the Twitter conversation while no one mentioned Joe at all.

Today it sounds like the Beltway may be throwing in the towel on Joe:

Basically everyone agrees she crushed it last night, and most of these are the same folks trying to sell us the bill of goods that she'd be flawed candidate for months. Last night kind of killed that meme.
Politico, the NY Times, Washington Post all had to admit it: Hillary killed last night. Even Bernie supporters on Huffington Post had to admit she did well.

"Her performance at the first Democratic presidential debate was so commanding that even her greatest vulnerability — the lingering controversy over her private email practices as secretary of state — ended up redounding to her benefit."

I'll say this for Bernie: it was classy and gallant I thought for him to defend her. Though it's interesting that a Huffington Post piece thinks he won the election there!

Well, let's be clear. It was very classy of the Senator but this was by far his biggest applause line of the night. This underscores the fact that Democrats love Hillary and Bernie knows that.
Or as Salon puts it: Sorry haters, Hillary won the debate!

Even Huffington Post is full of headlines of how great Hillary is. I agree: she really is great and I cant hear that enough.

Josh Marshall has a great piece on her great night.

I also see that Bill Scherr at Politico used a good term to describe my mood and that of many Democrats I've spoken too: we have Clinton Fatigue Fatigue.
"Bernie won the debate for Hillary. Both had solid performances. But when Bernie said “the American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn e-mails,” the tension release in the room was palpable. He united the crowd and helped the Clinton campaign turn the page. Back in May, I wrote that Democratic voters wouldn't let the e-mail controversy rattle them because they have “ Clinton Fatigue Fatigue.” That hasn't seemed true over the summer, but it sure did tonight, because Bernie made it OK for Democrats to not care."

I disagree a little. I think we Democrats already didn't care and Bernie seeing that figured it's smart to try and stand in the light of her popularity.
