Media Gets 'F on Benghazi Committee Coverage

I wrote  earlier-that Gowdy fingers Boehner as the one who wanted to politicize Benghazi by making it about Hillary's emails.

I'm happy to see Kevin Drum at Mother Jones also has-unfortunately a lot more people read him than me!

He makes a great point about media coverage:

"I'm not quite sure what this says about Gowdy, but it's certainly clear that Boehner thought that manipulating the media into nonstop reporting on Hillary's email server was a great idea. He also figured the media would take the bait. And they did."

"So Gowdy gets, oh, let's say a C+. He tried to do the right thing, but caved in pretty quickly. Boehner gets a D. He was all about taking down Hillary Clinton from the get-go. The media gets an F. Boehner at least has the excuse of being a senior Republican leader, and attacking Democrats comes with the territory. But the media is not supposed to be so gullible that they believe everything Republicans say about Democratic leaders. In the case of Hillary Clinton, though, that rule seems to have been suspended. Again."

So we have two big investigations that need being done.

1. Firstly the Benghazi Committee clearly needs some real sunlight and trasnparency.

2. Media coverage of Benghazi and Hillary more broadly.

I wrote about the NY Times this morning but they are not the only gulty party.

To be sure since the true partisan nature of Benghaiz has become unavoidable the media is finally beginning to look at the Committee itself. The Times itself had a huge piece this morning-total departure for it-that shows that the Benghazi whistleblower is right.
