He'd be long gone already.

By the way, I'm not even kidding that Trump sounds better than anyone else in the GOP.

This was crystallized yet again for me in this morning's Meet The Press. Chuck Todd interviewed Trump and spent the whole time trying to make him apologize for what he said about Megyn Kelly-Ms. Santa Claus is White, He Just Is.
Todd then jumped on Trump for calling Erick Erickson is a loser-even though this is quite right. I guess Todd doesn't know that Erickson has called Michelle Obama a Marxist harpy.
I actually think Trump nailed it when he said that this is all just hair splitting on tone when substance is what matters.
After that interview, Todd was on with a pantheon of Very Serious People: the Queen of all VSPers in David Brooks, as well as Hugh Hewitt and Andrea Mitchell. Mitchell is kind of ok though even if she is from the tribe.
They were all belaboring the point of how 'wrong' Trump's comments about Kelly are. Jeb Bush of course thinks he's scoring points by saying 'You can't offend 53% of the electorate.'
But that's just it: is the biggest problem women face Trump insulting Megyn Kelly? There was one other pundit on the screen with Todd, Heather McGee. I think she got it right when she pointed out that the GOP problem with women goes much deeper than Trump's 'interpersonal sexism.'
The real problem with the GOP and women is it's support of institutional and structural sexism as shown by the the fact that Rubio, Jeb, and Scott Walker all oppose exceptions of rape, incest, and the life of the mother in anti abortion laws.
P.S. I see that Rubio changed his tune on Todd this morning. Thursday night he denied that he has supported anti abortion bills with these exceptions. See this is the way GOP politicians are supposed to act. Say one thing one day and the other the next. Trump's problem is he upsets those expectations.
