Obama Press Secretary Josh Earnest just spoke at a White House press conference about today's flash crash-I think that's probably a good designation of it as it bounced back 860 points subsequently.
But the media seems much more interested on whether Biden is going to run. They seemed mostly interested in asking the same question again and again in different ways to elicit the response they want: that Biden is going to run and the President will support him and not Hillary Clinton.
I've spoken a few times about the pack mentality of the Beltway Press. There was a time when the President couldn't get a break. Every story about him had a negative spin. This is the key with the media, it's not just the facts but the spin. It's all about framing effects where everything they say can be true yet the implicit narrative is false.
It's interesting how things change. The press shows the President respect these days-as they should. It happened late last year, ironically, after the supposed GOP wave election-that is now in trouble at least in the Senate.

Partly because of how Obama carried himself and the improvement in the economy the media stopped trfiling about him all the time.
Now Hillary is their punching bag. In 2011 everybody went gonzo when Bill Clinton defended Mitt Romney's Bain record.
Back then Obama was the one with the negative coverage and even the Republicans spoke respectfully of Hillary. They hadn't yet decided that she was the 'worst Secretary of State ever.' This was also before the Benghazi farce.
This just shows the way it works with politics. When someone is not running for anything their numbers are always a lot higher than once they are in a race.
If Biden were running then the press would love Hillary.
