Trump Says He May Pick a Woman for His Running Mate

See this guy is just brilliant in his own way. No wonder I'm a Trump Democrat. You know he insults McCain but then he promises to spend money on veterans. He insults Megyn Kelly but promises to pick a female VP. Not promise but say he very well might.

There's a piece that points out the obvoius-that the entire GOP is deeply misogynistic about women-not just Donald Trump.

But my argument has been that the Republican party is more misogynistic than Donald Trump. Obviously the comments that Trump has made about some women over the years has been disgusting and wrong.

But if Trump has often shown extreme 'interpersonal sexism'-the entire GOP is deeply sexist in an institutional and structural basis.

What's more Trump by no means has the interpersonal market of sexism cornered. Erick Erickson who was allegedly so offended what Trump said about Megyn Kelly has said things as bad and worse in his time.

Rush Limbaugh says as much and worse every day of the week. And Megyn Kelly is no innocent with her interpersonal, institutional, and structural racism.

But I've said before that it's not just that the GOP is just as bad as Trump and that they agree. If anything Trump is not even as bad-at least on the more institutional level. For instance he made a great point on his 2 hour session with Sean Hannity last night.

Abortion is just the tip of the iceberg of what Planned Parenthood does. He acknowledged that attacking PP would also hurt the healthcare needs of many Republican women and those who don't require abortion services.

See, this is what's brilliant. If you look beneath all the hyperbole he's hardly running a typical conservative Republican campaign. Yet Fox News has fallen all over themselves to atone for offending him last week.

In reality he's really prochoice anyway, but never mind. Seriously, Bruce Bartlett may get his wish.

Even on immigration when you get past all the hyperbole of making Mexico pay for our fence, some of what  he says amounts to amnesty.

On economics he seems to be pitching some kind of wild-eyed autarky. But that seems to appeal to a lot of the base in both parties even if the official position of the GOP is dogmatically for free trade.

In this Trump is reminiscent of Ross Perot and even more Pat Buchanan.
