If Rejecting Iran Deal Doesn't Mean War why Does Cheney Reject it?

I can't think of any worse optics or poster boy for opponents of the Iran deal than the fact that Darth Vader himself has slivered back out of hiding to oppose the deal.

I say out of hiding quite literally as most of his time in office was spent hiding underground in anticipation of a nuclear bomb during the Cold War days or a terrorist attack post 9/11.

"Former Vice President Dick Cheney will speak out against the Obama administration’s nuclear deal with Iran during a speech next month at the conservative American Enterprise Institute."

"According to an AEI release, the former vice president will share his concerns about the deal’s “consequences for the security and interests of the United States and its allies in the Middle East.”

"In July, Cheney said on Fox News that the deal would make the use of nuclear weapons more likely."

“What Obama has done has, in effect, sanctioned the acquisition by Iran of nuclear capability. And it can be a few years down the road. It doesn’t make any difference. It’s a matter of months until we’re going to see a situation where other people feel they have to defend themselves by acquiring their own capability,” he said. “And that will, in fact, I think put us closer to use — actual use of nuclear weapons than we’ve been at any time since Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II.”

"Cheney will speak on Sept. 8 — just a week ahead of the Sept. 17 deadline for Congress to vote on the deal’s authorization."

Jeb doesn't know if he agrees with his brother's Iraq war or not but he has 21 out of 23 of his-and his father's-advisers.

Can you say another Bush-Cheney ticket?

This is why I'm not joking when I say that I don't want Trump for President but I'd take him in a heart beat over Jeb.

http://lastmenandovermen.blogspot.com/2015/08/why-you-have-to-take-trump-seriously.html

I'm neither joking nor engaging in invective or exaggerating. After all Trump wouldn't tear up the Iran deal 'On day one's Jeb and all the other GOPers. are.

I've said that Trump appeals to not just the Right but populists of the Center and Left but now that he's come out for raising capital gains taxes for hedge funds and other rich investors I even agree with part of his platform.

As Cheney has never heard of a war he didn't want-he was even pushing for war in Iran in 2007 when he was isolated even in the Bush White House-it's clear that President Obama is dead right that rejecting the Iran deal is support for war with Iran.

Meanwhile  with Harry Reid's support for the Iran deal the President is getting closer to having the votes to veto proof the treaty.

"Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) declared on Sunday that he will support President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran, ending speculation that he was waffling on the agreement."
“This is the best way, the only way, to keep Iran from getting a nuclear weapon,” Reid told The Washington Post.
"Nevada political reporter Jon Ralston also reported Sunday that Reid was planning to back the deal."
"For weeks, Reid’s position on the deal remained a mystery. However, Reid told the Post that he had privately supported the deal for weeks but wanted to confer with advisers and supporters in Nevada before publicly announcing his stance."
"Prominent GOP donor and Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson has actively campaigned against the deal, and some speculated that he would try to lobby Reid to oppose the agreement. Reid said that he had spoken to Adelson but declined to discuss the specifics of their conversation."
"Reid, who is retiring after next year, becomes the 27th Senate Democrat to publicly support the deal. The deal’s most prominent opponent is his likely successor, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.)."
"Obama needs seven more Democratic senators to support the deal and ensure its passage. Reid’s office confirmed to The Huffington Post that he will actively put his weight behind the deal and work to drum up the necessary votes. Just this weekend, he hosted two undecided Democrats, Sens. Michael Bennet (Colo.) and Patty Murray (Wash.), at a fundraiser."
