The Brexiters Have Been Shown to be Totally Bankrupt

All the leading Brexiters have slunk away with their tails between their legs.

1. First Boris Johnson who was thought to be the next PM, declared 'it cannot be me.'

http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2016/06/breaking-boris-johnson-is-not-standing-for-tory-leader/

What seems to be the case is that he was as shocked by Brexit as anyone. He had never expected-or wanted it to pass-he just wanted a political issue.

But after the unthinkable happened, he wanted no part of it. After all, he knew all along Brexit is a terrible idea.

2. Then Nick Farage, the leader of UKIP, suddenly retired declaring that 'I want my life back.'

Sure, but what about the Brits who want their country back after your lies led to the Brexit vote?

3. Now Andrea Leadsom is another leading Brexiter who has shown she can't take the heat.

She complains that the press is being too mean to her.

This is the same candidate who was attacking Theresa May for not being a mother like her.

If there was ever a group of paper tigers, in other words, it's the Brexiters.

Where does this leave Britain? In perhaps as good a position as it could be-having done the stupid Brexit vote to being with.

Theresa May seems to be ready to walk into the PM position uncontested. No one seems to want any more fighting.

Leadsom along with Brexiter Michael Gove and Graham Brady are all endorsing May.

It seems to be close to official now?

"The Conservative MP John Redwood is on BBC News. He has just congratulated Theresa May, although he said it was a shame that the party would not have the chance to have a democratic debate."

"Asked if he thought Brexiteers would unite behind May, he said he thought they would."

More from Andrea Leadsom:

"Business needs certainty - a strong and unified government must move quickly to set out what an independent United Kingdom’s framework for business looks like."

"It is also essential that current EU workers in the UK and businesses that employ them know where they stand."

"The Conservative party was elected only last year with a strong manifesto. We now need a new prime minister in place as soon as possible, committed to fulfilling that manifesto as well as implementing the clear instructions from the referendum."

"Theresa May carries over 60% of support from the Parliamentary party. She is ideally placed to implement Brexit on the best possible terms for the British people and she has promised that she will do so."

"So it seems to have worked out as well as you could have wanted. The pretenders all at least knew that they were pretenders. They all decided to save themselves embarrassment and get out, leaving only the real leader."

What will be interesting to see is whether Brexit ever happens now. It's at least subject to doubt.

After all, if there was really a mandate for it, why would you pick the candidate most associated with Remain who was David Cameron's right hand woman?

So Theresa May in the UK, next Hillary Clinton in the US?

UPDATE: Boris Johnson backs May. Nick Farage is 'disappointed' Leadsom is out. Farage, the guy who had to get out of politics after Brexit.

  1. I should have known you'd already be on this. Ignore my comment on your other post. First thing I did was pass along the good news to E. Harding. =)

I'm surprised though that Gove didn't show up in your initial couple of paragraphs... he was another big pro-Brexit backstabber, right?... revealing the true nature of what it was probably all actually about: attempts at career advancement though phony issue mongering in the tabloids. It's nice that it blew up in all the principles' faces, including Farage, Johnson, Gove, Leadsom, and yet even Cameron (I know he's a remainer, but Brexit owes it's existence ultimately to him). It's a big shit stained cluster fuck all around. May was the one left standing after all that backstabbing intrigue.

Also regarding Farage, I heard a blurp about him on the radio the other day saying this isn't the 1st time he's "quit" ... so he could very well be back, like the undead.

    1. I should have left the following for E. Harding:

      @E. Harding,

Post-menopausal hot [news] flash: Great news!!!

But I didn't think of that. It's funny how that phrase of his has stuck in my head.

    2. Here's what he actually got:

Well now he has a preview of my pettiness... and what to expect from me should Trump get dumped (either next week or in November). I guess I should get busy working on it now... Lol. I want maximum concentrated snark. I need to work out all contingencies... like for example should the Dems retake the senate as well... and the status of Merrick Garland.

    3. Yes, Cameron also deserved what he got.

He just like Boris and Nick Farage and Gove and all of them, knew it was a silly idea but exploited it for political gain.

It's blown up in all their faces and it's great to watch.

I always approve of trolling E. Harding and Art Deco.

It's interesting that Sumner has essentially banned me from commenting there but is not banning them.

Shows that maybe he deserves the Trumpers-as he banned the anti Trump guy but not them.

      Anyway, good work

  2. Your discussion of Harding reminded me to write about Sumner's book King Midas.

Here is the result of that.

    1. I didn't realize it would happen so soon (this Wednesday I guess):

I made sure to have fun directly letting Harding know, since he never responded to my comment to him at Sumner's:
