Berners Get Their Show Trials: Now Time for Unity

I really hate what has been done to her. She did nothing wrong. What emerged from these DNC leaks? She said Jeff Weaver is an ass, which he is.

She said Bernie is not a Democrat, which he isn't. This has been noted by many Democrats. Yet, Ms. Wasserman-Schultz who has done so much for the party in terms of fundraising over the last 5 years fell victim to the show trials over the DNC leaks.

Wikileaks sure seems to have no axe to grind.

"BREAKING NEWS: Julian Assange states that he will "release a new set of documents that will ensure @HillaryClinton's arrest." #DNCLeaks

So Assange working with Putin are trying to take down Hilary Clinton in a bid to help Trump. And the Berners grabbed on this hook, line, and sinker. Because in the minds of the Dead Enders what matters is not defeating Donald Trump but Hillary Clinton.

But we must consider the source and ask why Putin considers a Trump Presidency to be in his own best interest.

When you see Howie Carr jumping all over this, maybe the Berners could consider not rising to the bait.

Again, I hate this on a personal level. It's classic show trials. It's Jacobin: She did nothing wrong, but 'Off with her head!'

But now that it's done, hopefully we can move on. It is as this point mostly symbolic. DWS has not been running things anyway-the Hillary team has.

And it will now be in Donna Brazille's very capable hands.

What I don't like is that DWS did nothing wrong and now there is all this gloating about her demise.

Jamelle Bouie nails it:

"But then, I think part of this inflating of the DNC is to explain away Sanders' loss in a way that doesn't implicate him or his campaign.

It's an attempt to deny that Bernie really lost. Somehow the DNC magically 'coerced' 4 million more people to vote for Hillary.

However, if this is what it takes to achieve unity, it's worth it. Bernie is pleased about receiving his pound of flesh.

Give Bernie some credit:

"I’m glad that Jeff Weaver and the Sanders folks are being clear in saying that DNC bias didn’t decide the election. Because it didn’t."
On CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sanders was asked to respond to emails from DNC officials questioning his religion. “It is an outrage, and it’s sad that you would have people in important positions in the DNC trying to undermine my campaign,” Sanders said.

"But Hillary Clinton’s primary rival played down calls for him to continue challenging her as the Democratic nominee, saying that defeating Donald Trump is now his primary focus. Sanders also said he was pleased with movement on certain issues when it comes to the party platform."

"And Sanders praised Clinton’s vice presidential pick, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), even though he acknowledged that Kaine’s views are more conservative than his."

“On his worst, worst, worst day, Tim Kaine is 100 times better than Donald Trump will ever be,” Sanders said on CNN.

Ok. I hate show trials and Jacobin intrigue. Where you destroy people not because they've done anything wrong but because someone else questions the 'optics.'

Basically Ms. Wasserman-Schutlz has done nothing wrong. But the Berners feel bad and this is meant to compensate their disappointment for Bernie's loss.

Now that they've got it, hopefully we can move on. There is way too much at stake. And the issues that Bernie talks about have no hope with a Trump win.

  1. Is Assange still holed up in the Ecuadoran embassy in the UK?

  2. I didn't realize he's such a nasty guy. Wow.

  3. He claims he's going to release no info that will send her to jail
