Wow. Cable news outdid itself yesterday with breathless outraged coverage all day about Tarmacgate.
Can you believe Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch were at the same airport? How did this happen? How could they not have known better?
They were on the same plane. The same plane.
Ryan Cooper as usual gets in on the Clinton bashing:
"What gets me is not the fact that the fix is in, but the total lack of concern with even the appearance of propriety."

Not that Cooper was even the worst offender by a long way but his comment shows the whole problem. The fix is not in. Yet people get unhinged on phony concerns about appearances.
What gets me is that this led on every cable news network-and even some non cable networks.
All this faux outrage is based on two fictions:
1. That Hillary is very likely to be indicted or found criminally responsible.
2. That if Bill Clinton had hoped to somehow avoid 1, this is way he or anyone else would have done it. In public with 100s of onlookers?
3. Bill Clinton likes to schmooze people. Always has, always will.
"Bill Clinton has run into Orrin Hatch, Schwarzenegger, Paul Ryan, Ted Cruz, etc, as he's boarded private jet."

Trump absurdly claims that Hillary gets special favors.
Meanwhile, the only one who I can see getting any special favors is him:
"Donald Trump on Friday won a round in his legal fight with Chef José Andres in litigation over the collapse of plans for an Andres-run eatery at Trump’s new hotel in Washington."
"A D.C. Superior Court rejected a motion for summary judgment from the prominent chef in his $8 million countersuit after the Republican candidate sued him for $10 million last year."

"Andres had asked the D.C. Superior Court for a summary judgment in February. His lawyers argued that Trump's language calling undocumented immigrants "rapists" and criminals "essentially torpedoed" the restaurant he had planned to open at the Trump International Hotel under construction on Pennsylvania Avenue."
"After careful consideration of the record herein, the Court finds that substantial material facts in dispute remain regarding the effect of Mr. Trump’s statements on Defendants’ rights under Sublease," D.C. Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Di Toro concluded in the order issued Friday. "As genuine issues of material fact regarding liability remain for trial, the motion for partial summary judgment is denied."
"Trump attorney Rebecca Woods argued in a June 15 court hearing that Andres "has been outspoken on the immigration issue" and has "passionate political beliefs," while adding, "I'm not here to dispute them or argue about them. They made the decision to disaffiliate from the Trump Organization ... I am here merely to enforce the contract."

If you're so worried about optics why are you unconcerned about this? I mean, do you think that the fact that Trump is the Republican nominee for President has something to do with the delay?
Well, in the larger Trump U case it clearly did. Despite Trump's attacking the judge as being 'unfair' due to him being of Mexican descent, the judge was probably way 'too fair' to him in postponing the case until after the election.
I mean if Trump who has a 20 percent shot at becoming, God forbid, our next President is our next President do you honestly think there is any chance he loses this case then?
As usual the media is concerned over trifles while the real conflict of interest gets unreported.
Meanwhile you have him using the same argument Trump used against the Trump U judge: anyone with Mexican heritage or that disagrees with me politically is legally suspect.
This might have implications of what sort of President he might make if the media can stop with the baseless grasping at straws and innuendo at the latest faux Clinton scandal.

What we know is that a Trump Administration will tamp down on anyone with the wrong views or ethnic background.
