Even the Music is Better at the DNC

I don't want to commit plagiarism like Trump and Melania so let me attribute this to Jamil Smith.

He's right though. After hearing that choir and Boys to Men you already feel in a more unified frame of mind.

Meanwhile:

"The first day of the Democratic National Convention was gavelled in by Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, secretary of the Democratic National Committee and mayor of Baltimore."

She did a fine job of it and not one single boo. Great start. No 'Lock her up.' Even better.

It's an unfair world but Debbie Wasserman-Schultz had to be the sacrificial lamb.

I do think there's reason to hope that the hard feelings begin to subside. As Paul Waldman says, the Dems are unified but some Leftist outsiders want to destroy the party.

As Huffington Post says, Dems still have a Murderer's Row of speaks this week.

"Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is this year’s keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention, with a high-profile spot in front of a national audience going to one of the party’s top progressive voices."

"Warren is slated to take the stage Monday night, where the theme will be putting families first and highlighting Hillary Clinton’s lifelong work, according to a Clinton campaign official."

"The other speakers, beginning in the 9 p.m. hour, will include Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), first lady Michelle Obama and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). "

That's just tonight. Then you have Bill, Biden, President Obama, Chelsea and Hillary herself.

It's going to be a great week. This will be on the backburner going forward.

Bernie wants this too.

  1. Mike, what would you think if Hillary announced that she is somehow (I don't know how) putting Bernie in charge of studying the TPP and seeing if there's anything right about it, if there's anything to be salvaged from it, and replacing it with a fair trade friendly agreement.

It looks like they Bernie "revolutionaries" want another pound of flesh.

I really wonder if they even have the slightest idea what they're talking about. They seem like spoiled know-nothing children. I don't get it. Why doesn't the media get in their faces and ask them what specifically it is about TPP that they detest so much.

    1. I think they have just latched onto TPP as a bogey man, much like Trumpistas have latched onto the concept of "globalist."

    1. Dare I say it: they're acting like agents of Putin. =)

  3. Bernie needs to explain that he would not accept the Vice Presidency if offered. He needs to explain that he will be much more effective in the Senate. He needs to explain that if Elizabeth Warren or Sherrod Brown were picked for VP we'd lose a seat in the Senate because Republican governors would pick their replacements.

Maybe just maybe some brain cells will start to flicker on in their dense dense skulls.
