What Went Wrong in Michigan?

That was the first question asked to Hillary tonight.

The first question to Hillary Clinton during Wednesday night's Democratic Debate went right after the former Secretary of State’s latest vulnerability: her unexpected loss in the Michigan primary.

“Secretary, you have been starting to sound like the nominee lately, but many voters are saying not so fast. Where did you fail last night in Michigan,” Univision's MarĂa Elena Salinas asked Clinton.

“Well, look, I won one of the contests and lost another close one,” Clinton said, sidestepping her political upset. “I was pleased that I got 100,000 more votes last night than my opponent and more delegates. So this is a marathon, and it's a marathon that can only be carried out by the kind of inclusive campaign that I'm running."

Salinas pressed Clinton again, asking "What went wrong in Michigan?”

“It was a very close race. We've had some of those,” Clinton said. “I've won some. I've lost some. But, you know, I was very pleased by the overall outcome last night. And now we're on to the states for next Tuesday and I'm looking forward to campaigning hard in all of them.”

Why is that 'sidestepping?' I mean she has to call it an upset? What is the value of that? She did win one as well. She lost Michigan by under 2 points and won Mississippi by 68 points. Yet no one is asking Bernie what happened in Mississippi.

Why not? As I noted earlier, right now the media loves the new narrative that this was a game changer last night. Time will tell. But narratives change and what gets you there is delegates.

In 21 states she has a 200 point lead, so she's averaging about a 20 point win per contest. To catch up-not win just tie-he would need to average a 20 point win on his side in the next 21. How likely is that?

Al Sharpton has a question for Bernie that is probably more germane than a 1.5 percent loss in Michigan.

".@TheRevAl says @BernieSanders need to ask himself why more blacks aren't voting for him."
