This was an idea floated by Chuck Todd after Bernie's really very narrow win in Michigan the other night.
I'm sorry but it was by less than 2 points. Right now she has through 21 states gotten 60 percent of the delegates. A 1.5 percent win doesn't do anything to cut into this.
But there is this idea that she's in trouble on the trade issue. Certainly Bernie-along with Trump-have done a lot to demonize trade agreements during this campaign.

It's fairly ahistorical. The golden age of prosperity that we saw in the early postwar period happened despite lots of trade agreements.
The idea that the answer to the problem of stagnant wages is to slap a 35 percent tariff on China is absurd-it isn't less absurd when Bernie says it than when it's said by Trump.
Also Todd makes the classic mistake of pundits who think that the Dem base is the white progs that go for Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders which is false. It's actually black, Latino, and female voters.

Al Sharpton has also been saying that HRC needs an 'exciting' VP pick. But what he has in mind perhaps is a black VP not a white guy like Brown with credibility on the trade issue.
My own feeling remains that her pick is going to be Julian Castro. At a time like this with Trumpism and the impasse over immigration reform. a Latino pick is what is needed.
Sherrod Brown certainly is a great Senator with deserved credibility but if he were the pick, many black and Latino Dems would be unhappy with another white male.
Trade is not the big issue in every state it may be in Michigan. It's less of an issue in Illinois and in Florida being anti free trade actually hurts you.
Sherrod Brown's support in Ohio, though, may really help her on Tuesday.
