Crooked Mike Pence

Pence and Trump have a lot in common. On abortion Trump wants to punish women for having an abortion while Pence wants to fine them for the fetus.

In the last post we looked at how Trump continues to solicit foreign donations, despite being warned.

In other words he is committing impeachable offenses yet we hear no concern about this from the media.

Trump in his intro yesterday of Pence-that he got to after talking about himself for what seemed like 2 hours-claimed that the Indiana extremist is not 'crooked' like he claims Hillary is.

Actually Trump is being too modest. He and Pence are birds of a feather here too:

"Mike Pence was a young lawyer on the rise, challenging a longtime Democratic congressman in a Republican-leaning Indiana district."

"And then, scandal."

"Campaign finance records from the 1990 effort showed that Pence, then 31, had been using political donations to pay the mortgage on his house, his personal credit card bill, groceries, golf tournament fees and car payments for his wife."

"The spending had not been illegal at the time. But it stunned voters — and undermined Pence’s strategy to portray the incumbent, Rep. Philip R. Sharp, as tainted by donations from special-interest political action committees."

“It was a brazen act of hypocrisy,” said Billy Linville, who was Sharp’s campaign manager. “It was a bombshell, for sure. . . . Without question, he may well have won the election if it had not been for that.”

"Pence’s early stumble proved to be a defining moment, prompting a period of public remorse that helped create the wholesome image many Republicans now say makes him an ideal running mate to counterbalance the bombastic Donald Trump."

Sounds like Little Marco.

Meanwhile. after his flop of a VP rollout, Trump is talking about trying to take back the narrative by: announcing cabinet positions. Yes, that ought to do it.

As has been observed, naming your VP as a Presidential nominee is the equivalent of a couple of free throws. How do you mess that up?
It really has the look of an arranged marriage with no chemistry. In the pictures of Trump and Pence there is nothing. Trump doesn't pay any attention to Pence.
Doesn't look at him, or listen to him. He walked out after finally announcing him yesterday without even listening to the speech.
Compare that to the clear Southern boy chemistry of Bill-Gore back in 1992. Or even Hillary on the stump with Elizabeth Warren or Tim Kaine. You clearly see she's listening and she likes what she hears.
But then, Hillary's 'listening' ability is something unappreciated.

In a way this is surprising. In a world where everyone wants to talk it helps to have someone who wants to listen. If you like to talk you should be grateful for the listeners.
