There has been a tendency among Right wing radio hosts, to go for Cruz in recent months. I think a big reason the Mark Levins and the Glenn Becks are going this way is Trump is a threat to their own standing in the conservative movement.
Rush Limbaugh has been notable in trying to stay on the fence. Lawrence O'Donnell made the observation recently that he was listening to Rush one day on the radio and he got the distinct impression that Rush was following his listeners' lead on Trump-that if he was negative about Trump he'd lose a lot of listeners.
But Trump is a sort of existential threat to Right wing talk radio-also the conservative pundits, a la the National Review, etc-in the sense that for years they have been the gatekeepers of who gets to be a true conservative and who is a fake. Trump has come in now and upset that whole apple cart. He engages in all kinds of apostasies on abortion, healthcare-no one dying in street-foreign policy, and taxes.
And he suffers no penalty. Levin sees himself as the guy who tells people who the real conservative is. This is why Trump is this existential threat. Ted Cruz on the other hand is a true movement conservative. His candidacy is not a crisis in the same way,
As for delegates, Trump needs to be playing hard if not dirty. Cruz clearly has a real advantage here. Trump is losing in Indiana before they even vote.
