How Do You Lose Money Running a Casino?

In our last post we looked at the fact that Trump sued a man who pointed out he may only have $150 to $250 million dollars. Considering his dad, Fred Trump, gave him $40 million in 1974, that''s little more than the rate of inflation.

Now Hillary is hitting him where it hurts:

"HRC says Trump could bankrupt the country the way he bankrupted his businesses. "How can anyone lose money running a casino, I mean really?"

You go, girl! That's got to hurt. It's also a very good question.

If a journalist said this Trump would probably look to sue her.

She also rightly points out that Trump is the low wages candidate.

"Trump economics is a recipe for low wages," Clinton says

She also wants you to 'Deal me in' for a woman card.

Hillary also says 'the last thing we need is a bully in the pulpit.'

For the whole speech, check out this Politico piece.

Meanwhile, Michelle Fields, the former Breitbart reporter who Trump''s manager manhandled-Breitbart did the right thing and took Trump's side!-is now working at Huffington Post.

Why do I suspect we're going to get a lot more great material on Trump.

In other news: Trump is now pretending to barely know Roger Stone as he did with his butler who worked for him for 15 years and who later became the Margo Lago historian.

"I have nothing to do with Roger Stone, he doesn’t work for me. What did he do? He did a book?"

  3. Here's another from RedState:

A friend of mine also sent something with that theme after I sent him a link to that Onion video from 2012:

Well, actually, he sent two things, first this:
    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/5/22/1528391/-Studies-prove-linkage-between-racism-and-seething-hot-hatred-of-Obama

    And then this:

"And maybe you’ve wondered, how could Donald Trump have managed to be involved with large construction projects and casinos in New York and New Jersey while avoiding any dealings with organized crime? I mean, he’s an honest (awesome, amazing, the BEST, but honest) businessman, right? I bet he told those mobsters, “Hell no, not on my watch! My mission is to make America great again, so be gone, evil gangsters!” Yeah, I bet that’s what he did!!"

    1. Also as another gift to you, I just registered Dem (last day to do so) so I can vote HRC in the primary. You're welcome! =)

    2. Now that's a pretty great birthday present-though I still can use the Amazon purchases. LOL

This is a great day, however. When Tom Brown became a registered Dem.

Want to shut Bernie out so he doesn't get a talking point.

      Excellent

    3. I have to say however, that all the people that responded to my email with a link to that political quiz told me that Bernie was their guy (according to the quiz results). At least one was surprised, but most weren't. So I suspect I'll be cancelling out at least one of their votes, but oh well. Most said he scored > 95% for them (some were as high as 98% or even 99%). I did "trick" one into registering GOP, so there's that. =)

Even for me, Bernie tied with HRC (at 87%). But don't worry: I'm a committed anti-Republican, and I still think HRC *really* has the best chance against Trump. I know the polls say different, but I suspect if there were more attention focused on Bernie he'd actually be doing even worse than HRC against Trump. Not only that, but even if he would actually poll better against Trump, it's too disruptive at this point: Dems and anti-Republicans need to coalesce against the GOP: the sooner the better. Prolonging the quixotic Bern is not helping in that regard. You'll be glad to know that's basically the attitude of my niece and sister-in-law as well (whom I met for brunch yesterday).

I'm not a committed anti-Berner (or a committed pro-HRC supporter) like you: I just want to see the maximum damage done to the GOP and reactionary groups and causes in general, and unifying behind a practical candidate like HRC is the best way to achieve that IMO.

However, I do think it would be nice to be able to throw Bernie (and thus his supporters) some kind of bone. I have no desire to see Bernie humiliated or to see his supporters become (even more?) unhinged and stay home or vote Trump.

    4. I kind of feel he deserves to be taken down a peg or two. But you're attitude is probably more sensible. LOL

    5. It is a fact that Bernie usually wins the online polls. They front run them. A new poll today shows her leading him by 19 points.

  4. How do you lose money running a casino? I'm reminded of the scene in the Godfather where Michael Corleone visits Moe Green in Vegas.

Michael Corleone: “Your casino loses money. Maybe we can do better.”
Moe Greene: “You think I’m skimming off the top, Mike?”
    Michael Corleone: “You’re unlucky.”

As I recall things don't end well for Moe.

  6. Your title oddly applies to this piece on Venezuela as well:
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/05/19/there-has-never-been-a-country-that-should-have-been-so-rich-but-ended-up-this-poor/?tid=hybrid_experimentrandom_3_na

Hillary could maybe use some of that against the "Democratic Socialist."
