Sorry Bernie We're Just not That into You

Bernie just didn't get the votes. This is the acknowledgement of no less a person than Ryan Cooper.

"But Sanders' people have to make some concessions to the fact that American political structures are ridiculously antiquated, and it's going to take some time and consistent effort to be able to break through. Contesting the convention votes at the time, even with rowdy tactics, is perfectly legitimate, but it's beyond the pale to then flip out and start texting vile abuse to the convention chair. It's an odious thing to do, and all it accomplishes is front-page coverage in The New York Times about how Sanders supporters are probably all sociopaths."

"And more broadly, while it's also completely fair to contest the primary up to the end, it's also true that it's basically impossible for Sanders to win at this point. Clinton has 1,767 pledged delegates to Sanders' 1,488, and there are 930 delegates remaining. To even tie Clinton, Sanders would have to win about two-thirds of the remaining delegates, absolutely crushing her in every single race. The only place he's posted that kind of margin is in Vermont — and in the biggest remaining delegate haul, California, he's behind in the polls by quite a bit. It's basically out of the question."

Yep. Bernie's problem is not a rigged system but: democracy itself.

Note that most Socialist leaders have not been elected.

Cooper who is not a Hillary supporter and is disappointed at least admits the truth. What he doesn't ask is why this is. Why did Hillary get the votes? I talked about this in my previous post.

This needs to be said because Bernie has spoken so disparagingly about us from the start. We are only for Hillary because of name id or because we're from the South, or because we hadn't yet heard Bernie''s stump speech.

Or maybe we all voted in the early primaries before we heard Bernie's stump speech. That doesn't explain how I and so many of my fellow NY Democrats voted for her on April 19 after he outspent her by a considerable margin in NY

Hillary supporters are tired of being marginalized. We don't harass people on Twitter all day like the Trumpists and the Berners but we actually vote. There are more of us than either the Berners or the Trumpists.

We're 'real progressives' too. But we are Center Left, the pragmatic Left who actually has real victories during the Obama years. Not the too purist for schoolers who piously declare 'the less  of evil is still evil.'

A Berner recently explained why he and his fellow Berners are so self-righteous. It only seems this way he explained because like Beyonce Bernie is flawless.

We are the Center Lefters who aren't radicals but who desire smart reform not revolution. As Paul Krugman says, the truth has a well known Center Left bias.

The Berners can't believe how many of us there are.

Now we're hearing that Hillary is a 'flawed candidate' who can't beat an obvious charlatan like Donald Trump.

The Hillary bashers were wrong in this primary and we will make them wrong again in November.

  1. Mike, I didn't know this show existed. The focus of this episode is Ted Cruz, but they have a bit in the middle on Bernie you might think is funny too:
