No Bernie, You are the Arrogant One

All his histrionics are getting increasingly laughable. He's saying that Hillary is arrogant for saying she's the nominee. So telling the truth is arrogant?

"Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said rival Hillary Clinton's recent assertions that she will be the party's nominee show arrogance on her part."

"Appearing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Thursday night, Sanders was shown an interview clip of Clinton saying that she will be the Democratic nominee."

“Just a tinge of arrogance there, I think,” Sanders responded.

"The Vermont senator then referred to recent primaries in Oregon and West Virginia, where he won, and Kentucky, where the two were close enough for Sanders to call for a review of votes."

"I kind of think that on June 7, the people of California will have a message for Secretary Clinton," he said.

"He also hit Clinton for turning down a California debate, calling it "insulting" to the state's residents."

This is Bernie's new narrative. It all comes down to California he claims. How so? Hillary now is just 73 delegates from 2383. There are 475 delegates in California alone. She could therefore lose in a landslide and still be way over 2383.

Not that there is any reason to imagine she will lose in a landslide. She'll probably win-this is what the averages show.

But let's say he were to win the state by 2 points. So what? To hear Bernie tell it that means he wins the nomination. Now that is arrogance.

Why should she listen to any 'message from California?' He has refused to heed the message of South Carolina voters who chose Hillary by 50 points, of Ohio, NY, Pennsylvania, and Arizona voters all who chose Hillary in a double digit landslide, or the voters of Florida, Texas, and Maryland all who chose her by at least 30 points.

He has ignored those voters. He has often dismisses them as somehow their votes are less important than the voters of states he won. Now he says that if he wins California by 2 points, the voters who chose her in a landslide in all those other states are irrelevant?

Now that's arrogance.

Meanwhile even Donald Trump gets it: if you're in second place you lose. Bernie is the loser and so he is not the Democratic standard bearer against Donald Trump.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump finally announced Friday that he won't be debating Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT.)

"Based on the fact that the Democratic nominating process is totally rigged and Crooked HillaryClinton and Deborah Wasserman Schultz will not allow Bernie Sanders to win, and now that I am the presumptive Republican nominee, it seems inappropriate that I would debate the second place finisher. Likewise the networks want to make a killing on these events and are not proving to be too generous to charitable causes, in this case women's health issues," Trump said in a released statement.

"Therefore, as much as I want to debate Bernie Sanders–and it would be an easy pay day–I will wait to debate the first place finisher in the Democratic Party, probably Crooked Hillary Clinton, or whoever it may be." The drama had played out for several days with Trump suggesting Thursday that he'd only do the debate if a network paid millions to charity."

It's a shame when Donald Trump has to be the voice of reason.

But Bernie is suggesting that his top priority is not taking a President Trump off the table. After all, whether he were to debate Trump or not is besides the point. That doesn't somehow magically get him the nomination anymore than winning California by 2 points would.

But it would be another meme to somehow contribute to the idea that Hillary's nomination is not legitimate even though it certainly is. Not exactly the way to unify the party.
