Would a President Trump be 'Unmindful of the Rules?'

After all, the Washington Post is so outraged over yesterday's IG report that confirms mostly what we already knew. What is new is actually embarrassing for the Beltway media who had claimed that Hillary was the only Secretary of State who used private email for most of her official business.

http://lastmenandovermen.blogspot.com/2016/05/the-lies-of-chris-cillizza-and-double.html

But of course WAPO and the rest of the Beltway press is glossing over that. Somehow they have to pretend that what she did was unprecedented in all human history. Hitler might have been a bad guy but hey, he didn't use private email.

Maybe that's why the Beltway is now in the tank for Hitler 2.0. I showed in an earlier piece today that yesterday Politico had 1 sort of negative piece about Trump while posting 11 negative pieces about Hillary.

http://lastmenandovermen.blogspot.com/2016/05/the-real-asymmetric-campaign-is-medias.html

That's the real asymmetrical campaign-not Trump's weak tea of drivel about Vince Foster and Whitewater but the media being 1100 percent more tough on her campaign than on his.

And lest we forget: the fact that Vince Foster even is a thing that we recall is thanks to allegedly objective news organizations like the Washington Post and the NY Times.

So WAPO can be so mortally outraged over Hillary engaging in what was common State Department practice while giving Trump as pass on his refusal to release his tax returns because he's being audited. As if the fact that someone has been audited every year since the 80s is not itself a huge source for concern.

But WAPO is concerned about nothing except emails:

"The department’s email technology was archaic. Other staffers also used personal email, as did Secretary Colin Powell (2001-2005), without preserving the records. But there is no excuse for the way Ms. Clinton breezed through all the warnings and notifications. While not illegal behavior, it was disturbingly unmindful of the rules. In the middle of the presidential campaign, we urge the FBI to finish its own investigation soon, so all information about this troubling episode will be before the voters."

No excuse. There's always this absurdly unyielding standard applied to Hillary alone. No one else can even be held accountable. Everyone else gets a pass. The media has been falsely claiming for a year that the difference with Hillary is she used private emails for all her state business. Turns out so did Colin Powell.

Now the Hillary hating Beltway press moves the goalposts yet again. Well, she used her own private server. But then so did Jeb Bush as Governor of Florida. And he like Powell destroyed his emails.

But Jeb is not running anymore surely would be the answer. But he was running and the media didn't worry about that then either.

We're outraged if you use private email-if and only if your name is Hillary Clinton.

So says Maureen Dowd's media.
I wonder if WAPO feels like a President Trump-that the media is working so assiduously to elect, just as they did to elect George W. Bush-would ever even consider being 'unmindful of the rules'-any rules?

Evidently they don't worry about this even though the man has been audited every year since the 80s.

I'm sure Trump would never break any rules whatsoever though he does say now that his Vice President not he will effectively be running the country if elected.

Why do I get the idea that if we elect Hitler 2.0, the last worry will be whether he uses a private email?

  2. Very helpful by Ms. Rubin. LOL

I agree with her on a lot of it-and I think you see Hillary already doing some of it. Rubin ought to go out and get coffee with Hillary and chat.

  4. Mike, you're an "East coast guy" ... does this guy from Queens they're describing sound familiar to you?

MAHER: [overlapping] I think he’s – yes, I think he’s actually a douchebag from Queens. [laughter] [applause]

CONWAY: [overlapping] I think he’s—[voices overlap] [cheers]

    LEIBOVICH: Very authentic.

MAHER: And, you know what? Let me tell you – let me tell you something. I – I – as I said before – and, you grew up on the East Coast before you moved to California.

REINER: [overlapping] Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

MAHER: [overlapping] Okay. All right. I know this guy. I know this East Coast guy, the guy who says, “I’m gonna get you a great deal.” [laughter] “I know a guy – I know a guy who knows a guy”—

REINER: [overlapping] “Who knows a guy…”

MAHER: [overlapping] “Who’s gonna get you a great deal.” [laughter]

    REINER: Yeah.

MAHER: He just took this national. He took that character—

    FRANK: [overlapping] Exactly right.

MAHER: [overlapping]—which is such an East Coast thing that we know, and he took it national. And they don’t – they’ve never seen it before. [applause]

    REINER: Yeah.

MAHER: And, they are going to be so disappointed

    REINER: [overlapping] Yeah. [cheers]

MAHER: [overlapping]—when he can’t get you a great deal. That’s – that’s exactly who he is.

  5. Look at this Mike:
A RedState writer agrees with Trump about something: Trump was right about Rubio: he really was a "chocker."
