Annie Karni has a breathless piece in Politico over Bill Clinton's paid speeches.
"Hillary and Bill Clinton’s highly paid speeches — whose transcripts they steadfastly refuse to release despite pressure on the campaign trail — are cloaked in secrecy."
"Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump have both seized on the issue, raising red flags about what the Clintons say behind closed doors to Wall Street firms and other groups that they don’t say in public. By digging in their heels, the Clintons have only drawn more attention to the question: What, exactly, do you get when you pay a Clinton hundreds of thousands of dollars for an intimate, closed-to-the-press speech?"

You know what's really cloaked in secrecy? Donald Trump's speeches. As for Bill Clinton's speeches, this was pretty funny:
"A transcript of a private $285,000 paid speech Bill Clinton delivered last year at the “China-U.S. Private Investment Summit” in Austin, Texas, obtained by POLITICO, offers a glimpse behind the curtain of the Clintons' controversial paid speaking gigs — and some insight into how the former president holds court out of sight of the press."
“Once I got a cartoon in the mail when I was fighting out that Whitewater business,” he reminisced in front of about 60 Chinese investors and 150 American businesspeople gathered to discuss bilateral investment opportunities in late March 2015 — two weeks before Hillary Clinton officially declared her candidacy. “And Jiang Zemin and I are sitting together at a state dinner, and in the first frame, I say to President Jiang, I said, ‘You know, you're doing great economically, but our country has more human rights.’ And he looked at me and he said, ‘Yes, and if you were the leader of China, Ken Starr would be in prison making running shoes.’”
"A self-deprecating Clinton admitted of those scandal-tarred days of his presidency: “I saved that cartoon for a long time. I must say there were days when I wondered who had the better model.”

What, are we supposed to be outraged by that? It's not like Bill praised the crushing of the protesters at Tinanmen Square like Trump did.

Trump has an admiration for dictators the world over. You can say it goes too far to compare him to Hitler. But someone should ask him his opinion about The Fuhrer, nevertheless. I bet you Trump admires him too.
I am deadly serious here. It would be very interesting for someone to simply ask Trump's opinion of Adolph Hitler. According to his ex wife, Ivana Trump, he used to keep a book of Hitler's speeches by the bed.

I wonder if she has 'forgotten' this like she forgot her accusation-under oath in a deposition-that Trump raped her in the early 90s over a bad hair day.
"Bill Clinton has raked in close to $3 million in paid speeches since his wife launched her second bid for the White House last April, according to Hillary Clinton's most recent financial disclosure. The enormous fee for the Texas speech — which took place when Hillary Clinton was already scouting campaign office space but had yet to officially announced her bid — signals just how much well-heeled clients are willing to pay to hear from a former, and potentially future, occupant of the White House."

At least she has done her financial disclosure. This in itself is a lot more transparent than Donald Trump who refuses to even release his tax returns. Demanding that paid speeches are released are a new standard. But Trump won't even comply with our current standards and show us his taxes.
Meanwhile, Ms. Karni says not a word about Trump's own paid speeches before a Ponzi scheme company. I remember when I had an exchange with a Berner on Twitter who didn't believe that Trump has given paid speeches! LOL. Ignorance, Thy name is Berners for Bernie.
"It turns out Ben Carson isn’t the only 2016 republican presidential candidate who has the embarrassing distinction of giving paid speeches to pyramid scheme companies. New disclosures from the finances of Donald Trump reveal that he gave a six figure paid speech last year to a multilevel marketing or pyramid scheme company, calling into question not only the timing, but just what he might be hiding in the transcripts."
"There is some debate across as to just how thoroughly the company in question, ACN, fits the traditional label of a pyramid scheme. But Donald Trump’s involvement nonetheless raises eyebrows. This is far from the first time he’s given paid speeches to the company in question. But his speech last February, which netted him nearly half a million dollars, came just four months before he officially entered the race for President. The nature of the company, as well as the high speaking fee involved, has led some to wonder just what kind of speech Trump may have been giving."
"Now we know why Hillary Clinton has preferred to hang onto her own Wall Street speeches as leverage down the road rather than releasing them during primary season. She has stated that she’ll be willing to make her transcripts public only when Trump releases his own, and she’s hinted that the content of his paid speeches may be far more problematic than hers."
"Among other eyebrow raising details in Donald Trump’s latest disclosures: he’s still claiming that his golf course could be worth anywhere from $1 million to $50 million, suggesting possible shenanigans on property appraisals. And he’s also an investor in at least three major corporations that he criticized by name during the course of the republican primary race."
"But Trump’s paid speech to a pyramid scheme in the same year he entered the race for President may end up drawing the most attention. His former opponent and now ally Ben Carson faced backlash for giving speeches to a company which had been busted by the government for making misleading claims about a supposed cancer cure."

None dare call it sexism. It's amazing the double standard that pundits like Annie Karni employ with Hillary compared to Trump.
No wonder the Berners believe Hillary is the only person to ever have given a paid speech. The media has spoken so little about Ben Carson and Donald Trump's much more questionable speeches.
Ben Carson, for God's Sake, went on a book tour in the middle of his campaign.
