You often hear all the hand-wringing over Hillary's numbers being upside down. It's true though her numbers were very positive before she started running. Which indicates a law of American politics: you are always going to be most popular before you start running. People love you-until you ask them for your vote.
There are some new numbers out on the Presidential candidates from MSNBC which suggest favorability is overrated. Yet the media keeps discussing it regarding Hillary.
Trump is the worst, of course, at -34
But Ted Cruz is worse than HRC too at -28
Next is HRC at -18
However, it's interesting to see who's next.
Bernie is at -7. Mr. Purity, is also, already negative.
Here is the most absurd cut of all, which tells you this is a perhaps not so meaningful gauge:
John Kasich is a +1.
It's almost an inverse relationship between favorability and chance at winning the primary. Kasich has a very slight net favorability precisely because he has no chance and up until now there's been no need to attack him.
Trump did make mincemeat of him in that debate back in October when he came in calling him crazy. Trump just said 'fracking' and 'Chairman at Lehman Brothers in 2009' and that was the last we heard of Kasich in that whole debate.
There is a great deal to criticize Kasich over but until now it hasn't been worth the time.
