Matt Bevin and Jeb Bush

My constellation of these two seemingly very different GOP politicians may surprise you. I mean what do they have in common? Well both may be election fixers. 

Jeb's part in making sure that the Florida recount did not go forward is not really even disputed anymore. 

"When some of us hear Jeb Bush’s new slogan, “Jeb can fix it,” we don’t think of a mechanic getting under the hood and fixing the nation’s problems. We don’t even think of Jimmy Savile, the notorious British pedophile, whose show was called “Jim’ll fix it,” although some people sure will. No, we think about Election 2000 and the Florida recount, where Jeb proved that his slogan isn’t all hot air. Whatever else he did as Governor of Florida, when it came to that election, Jeb fixed it."

But speaking of fixed elections we may have just seen another one in Kentucky this last Tuesday.

It is certainly a real anomaly that literally every poll showed a double digit swing from Bevin's landslide victory.

Certainly talk of a stolen election shouldn't be made lightly. But it's beyond just an anomaly that down ticket Democrats got so many more votes than top of the ticket's Jack Conway.

"We see, again, the nightmare scenario I've warned about for so many years: a U.S. election where all of the pre-election polls suggest Candidate X is set to win, but Candidate Y ends up winning by a huge margin instead and nobody even bothers to verify that the computer tabulated results accurately reflect the intent of the voters."

"That's exactly what happened in Kentucky on Tuesday, where Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway was leading by a fair margin (about 3 to 5 points) in almost every pre-election poll in his race for Governor, but then ended up being announced as the loser to 'Tea Party' Republican candidate Matt Bevin by a landslide (almost 9 points) --- according to the state's 100% unverified computer tabulation systems."

"As detailed on today's program with my guest Karoli Kuns of Crooks And Liars, there are a number of reasons to question the reported results. Among them, as Kuns points out today at C&L, the Democrats running in the down ballot races --- for Secretary of State, Attorney General (Conway's current job) and even state Auditor --- each reportedly received tens of thousands more votes than Conway did at the top of the ticket!"

"Bev Harris, of BlackBoxVoting.org, who I spoke with earlier today, described the higher vote totals in the down ballot races as a "significant anomaly". She tells me that, at least until more records are requested and examined, the KY-Gov's race "has to be looked at as a questionable outcome, particularly because of the discrepancies in the down ballot races. More votes in those races and not at the top...that just doesn't happen."

What's interesting is even Daily Kos, killed a woman's diary piece because she suggested this was a stolen election.

 But this is not just a conspiracy theory. This result needs verification. 

I should give the HT to DailyNewsBin in being one of the few to report on this. It's just not very likely that voters would not vote on Conway but vote for lots of more local down ticket candidates. 

"In U.S. elections there is essentially no such thing as down-ballot candidates of a certain party getting more votes than the candidate at the top of the ballot. In state-level elections, for instance, scores of voters will only show up to cast their vote in the governor’s race and then go home, without bothering to vote in the lesser contests also on the ballot, because they either don’t know or don’t care about those races. But in this week’s Kentucky voting, several democratic candidates for lesser offices got far more votes than democratic gubernatorial candidate Jack Conway"

"That’s essentially impossible, and could only have been explained away if, for instance, Conway had been caught a major last minute scandal which caused die hard democrats to turn out for the down-ballot races while not voting for any candidate for governor – and that didn’t happen here. Couple that with the fact that the polls had Conway winning by three to five points right up until election day, and yet Bevin somehow won by nine points – again, something that just does not happen in state elections – and it makes for easily the most impossible results in a governor’s race in modern American history. Investigations will certainly ensue."

The Democrats have been talking about fighting back at the state level. If so they need to be front and center on this.
