Killing Hillary With Biden: I love the VP but Time to Shut Down this Fiasco

Listen I love the Vice President and have always defended Joe. After the Repubs were all over him and even talking about POTUS dropping him after his 'now you're back in chains' comment I defended him as loudly as anyone.

The media forgets it now, but in 2011 Biden was the one always being razzed by the Beltway press rather than Hillary. Everyone praised her back then-so as to hurt President Obama who was running for re-election.

Bill Clinton had made the great point at the time that those people knocking Obama and telling him to be more like Clinton were just saying that because Bill was out of office.

The same thing is happening again in reverse. Now that Hillary is running now the Beltway is all over her and they can't stop their lovefest for Biden.

Do you think I'm overstating this? Well check this out back in 2010:

Former Gov. Doug Wilder (D-VA) says President Obama should drop Vice President Joe Biden and run with Hillary Clinton in 2012.

Wilder says Joe Biden's "relationship" with the "working class" hasn't paid off because jobs aren't available. Wilder argues that Hillary Clinton would have a better relationship with the working class.

Wilder says choosing Clinton is both "change and audacious."

Wilder was by no means an outlier. The conventional Beltway wisdom back then was that Biden was hurting Obama and that he should consider dropping him.

This of course would have been terrible advice. For an incumbent President to dump his own Vice President is going to be a major repudiation of his own Administration. It would have been folly for Obama to countenance such a move-and notice that he never did as he knew that.

Now we;ve come full circle and now all the Beltway wise men assure us Democrats that our salvation will be in dumping Hillary for Biden-the exact opposite of what they were saying before the 2012 election!

Which just shows you that whoever is the current Democrat running for President is going to be the one with all the crap thrown at them.

I understand that the VP is in his own words 'not himself.' He doesn't sound at all like a man who plans to run for President and I'm not so sure that the speech he is supposed to give next Thursday-the day after the GOP debate-is going to be him finally pulling the plug on the Biden Madness.

If it's not what he;s going to say, it should be. I know how tough it has been for him and my sympathy and prayers are with him as many other Americans are.

But I know also that he's a good Democrat, that he cares about his party; and his nonexistent campaign is hurting the Democratic party. He should do the classy thing-as he always has-and put and end to it.

Take away one weapon out of the hands of the Hillary hating Beltway press. I wonder what Chris Matthews will talk about if this fiasco ends Thursday.
