they are happy to engage in anti Islamic slurs themselves if it helps Trey Gowdy's GOP oppo research against Hillary Clinton's campaign.
The only rules really broken are probably Gowdy's use of his investigation machinery on blatantly campaign activity.
Earlier, Politico had a misleading headline to make readers think that Hillary faces a 'mightmare' over her emails with the FBI when it's exactly the opposite. The FBI is refusing to aid Gowdy's witch-hunt.

The House GOP is running out of material-Benghazi has discovered no wrongdoing and no crime or breaching of any rules or protocol were broken by Ms. Clinton.
So like with Whitewater, if at first you don't find your smoking gun then just keep broadening the fishing expedition which has had the full complicity of the Beltway press, notably Politico throughout.
All of Hillary's relevant emails have been released as consistent with State Department rules. So now Gowdy and friends want to see her irrelevant personal emails even though they have no earthly right to them.
But the media watchdogs as usual are only interested in furthering their anti Hillary narrative and don't care if the only lawbreaking is actually on the part of her accusers. That is just a detail.
A new line of attack is to focus on personal emails that mention Hillary's long time assistant, Huma Abedin. They have become focused on her ans she has an Arab name of course.
Now Politico merrily jumps in and has a new piece about some totally innocuous activity by Ms. Abedin under a section they call The KJB File.
what is this freefloating suggestion supposed to be? That as a Muslim Ms. Abedin must be a Communist or some disgusting Other?
Could they be any more blatant here? If so, that will probably be in their next hit piece. Why else list this in a KGB file?
When you read the post there is no there there whatsoever. The news flash is Abedin met Anna Wntour-in France?
Did I say France? She must have been up to something. Why else meet in France? What does she haev against America? Don't all Muslims hate America. Don't the French hate America.
While the post is a snoozefest-truly they are reporting that there is nothing to report, but they managed to get Huma's name in under a KGB File and suggest something is out of the ordinary even though clearly based on the facts in this piece they aren't.
Politico ends ominously.
"A spokesperson for the Clinton campaign did not return a request for comment about the Paris event."

Oh my God! Why wouldn't they get back with a comment?! No comment is almost as bad as pleading the fifth and we all know pleading the fifth is admission of guilt.
Of course, Hillary Clinton is not commenting, she's addicted to secrecy. What is she hiding? Could Abedin be in the KGB? Why else is her story in the KGB file? Maybe Abedin is responsible for Benghazi-after all she's a Muslim!
This is literally the tone of Hilary's Beltway press coverage. Even when not literally lies, totally misleading and deliberately so.

But part of why Ms. Abedin is such a source of fixation by Gowdy and friends is she's a Muslim. You simply cannot overstate the importance of this.
