Carly I Think the Women of America Know What You Mean as Well

Ok-the elephant in the room: I'm not a woman. But that's not the point. This is where the GOP goes wrong on issues of race and gender. Just because she's a woman women should support her?

Ok, so the media is belaboring how she put Trump in his place over making fun of her face-though she had done the same thing to Barbara Boxer in 2010.

Of course the media doesn't care about that, as this is about bringing down Trump and clearing the path to Jeb.

Like the media is worried that Trump can't name the head of ISIS and thinks this disqualifies him from higher office. But they weren't worried about W back in 2000 mangling some questions about various heads of state. Then they accepted that these were gotcha questions.

Now everyone is 'standing at attention' as Fiorina shows off what foreign policy gravitas she has by studying all these names and groups in her prep session.

So allegedly women of America cheered last night because she called out Trump on her face. To be sure Jake Tapper did eerything but tie Trump's hands and legs up and courteously invite her to kick slap and kick him.

But how much do women have to cheer the way she lied and vilified Planned Parenthood.

Carly Fiorina gave a harrowing description of the Planned Parenthood sting videos atWednesday's Republican debate, challenging Barack Obama to watch "a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain."

"Fiorina is wrong: Nobody watching the Planned Parenthood tapes would see those things. I know, because I recently watched all 12 hours of footage."

"But the things Fiorina describes — the legs kicking, the intact "fully formed fetus," the heart beating, the remarks about having to "harvest its brain" — are pure fiction."

"You don't have to take my word for it; You can watch the footage right here. The part showing fetal tissue begins about an hour and 18 minutes in and runs nearly through the end of the video, shot at the Colorado clinic."

In a way I hardly find Sarah Kliff'  comforting. Was it really necessary to spend over 12 hours disproving a lie it took Fiorina 30 seconds to repeat?

I appreciate Kliff's work on this but it surely is possible to figure out that these tales are an Urban Legend without spending an entire waking day watching it.

Even the specific take down of Trump, ironically, shows Trump in a better light than Carly regarding women's rights.

"It's interesting to me," Fiorina said coolly, "Mr. Trump said that he heard Mr. Bush very clearly and what Mr. Bush said. I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said."

But when you look at it, this Trump was actually right in what he said about Jeb not caring about women's healthcare.

Trump was pointing to something substantive-Jeb has a terrible record on women's health, contraception, and right to choose.

Fiorina's jab is basically substance free

. Ok, you can argue that Trump was sexist in mentioning her appearance but that's at best 'interpersonal sexism.' What is that compared to Jeb's record of stopping rape victims and incest victims from their choice to get an abortion?

Or Mike Huckabee denying abortion for an 11 year old rape victim?

UPDATE: Here is a Huffington Post piece that makes the same point about Carly maybe standing up to Trump but not for women' issues.
