Hillary's Lead Widens in New Poll and Politico Actually Reports it

It's them actually giving this story front page treatment that is notable.

"In a reversal of a recent slump, Hillary Clinton rose among Democratic voters in a new CNN/ORC national poll out Monday morning, widening the gap between herself and Bernie Sanders. And if Vice President Joe Biden decides against running for the presidency, her advantage could rise even further.

"Clinton picked up 42 percent, with Sanders grabbing 24 percent and Biden, who has not made a decision about running, with 22 percent. Other candidates polled within the margin of error. But if Biden elects not to run, Clinton's lead over Sanders jumps to 57 percent to 28 percent, up from 48 percent to 32 percent in the previous CNN poll."

"In that poll, conducted earlier this month, Clinton drew 37 percent to Sanders' 27 percent, while Biden took in 20 percent."

To be sure, that previous CNN poll was something of an outlier. The new poll that shows her with close to a 20 point lead with Biden and 30 without is about the mean of polls as this Real Clear Politics poll shows.

In other poll news the media is determined to have every headline say 'Fiorina soars in post debate polls, Trump falls.'

This is more half true. She has moved up in some polls but he hasn't fallen that much.

Carly Fiorina has surged into second place behind Donald Trump following last week's Republican presidential debate, according to a new CNN/ORC poll released Sunday.

The new poll, which was in the field during the three days after the debate, found Trump leading the pack with 24 percent — a modest drop from a CNN poll earlier this month, when he was at 32 percent."
"Fiorina, whom a slight majority of poll respondents who watched the debate said did the best job, jumped to second place at 15 percent. The former Hewlett-Packard CEO was up from just 3 percent earlier this month."

An NBC poll leaves him at 29%. with her at 11%.

What is certainly very notable from post debate polls is Scott Walker is in real trouble polling at less than half a percent in the polls. Meanwhile Rubio's numbers have gone up.

These two phenomenon seem to be related.
