Beltway Press Awards Carly Fiorina Debate;s Winner

Because the moderator give her a softball over Trump's jibe against her at Rolling Stone. This is the line the Very Serious People are so besotted by.

"Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina directly responded to GOP rival Donald Trump's comments about her face at the CNN debate Wednesday."

"I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said," Fiorina said, to thundering applause from the audience."

This really irks for me for this person who attacked Planned Parenthood in such a vile and dishonest way is playing the 'I'm doing this for my chicks' card.

"Carly Fiorina waded into the debate over defunding Planned Parenthood by daring Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to watch the undercover tapes and still support funding the group."

“I dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama to watch these tapes. Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain,” she said of the Democratic front-runner and the president."

"If we will not stand up and force President Obama to veto this bill, shame on us.”

"Running for the Democratic nomination, Clinton has stood strongly behind Planned Parenthood on the campaign trail."

Simply disgusting that she is allowed to play this card and the media has had this phony thing about Trump's insult about her for weeks. They claim this shows Trump's sexism which she was there to redress.

But after seeing what she says about women's issues it should be obvious how phony this poise is. And what she said about PP was a pure lie.

Everyone seems to be saying she won-and the only reason is this line to Trump.

Chris Matthews is totally wrong-he claimed that Trump bombed. I don't think so. First of all, the CNN moderators really ganged up on him. They all just invited the other GOP candidates to attack him.

Basically the moderator invited Fiorina to tell off Trump just as they instructed Jeb to demand that Trump apologize to Jeb for slurring his Mexican wife.

I think it actually made Jeb look weak.

I mean to me, if he needed an apology, he should have demanded this publicly when Trump made the crack back in June.

Here I felt like the moderators really were focused on trying to bring Trump down to earth and impose on him the normal rules of gravity as they see it.

This is about them showing us their power to shape public opinion.

Not all are saying Trump did as bad as Mathews, Some say he didn't bomb. But none are saying he won-this is given to Carly.

If anything Trump was actually right when they argued about their business experience.

Anyway, this is what the pundits think, we'll see what the actual GOP voters think.

I'm hoping the voters disagree again. Because these pundits really deserve it. To again be wrong. They had told us after the first debate he was finished. Now again. We'll see.

UPDATE: I have to agree with Fox for once. Bill O'Reily and Brent Bozwell I think got it right. The first part of the debate was basically Donald Trump had this for lunch and why is he wrong.

I would say that Trump did ok considering how much the deck was stacked against him. I wonder if a lot of his supporters see it the same way.

UPDATE 2.0: This Fox News show Trump won.

  1. Trump carried the "Drudge Report" poll too (which is probably BS, but whatever):

Breitbart had a headline piece about that a bit ago, but it's not there now.

To honor the "scientific integrity" of the poll I'll refrain from voting since I didn't even watch the debate. But you qualify Mike!:

    1. Redstate seems pretty keen on Fioina (and Rubio, and Jindal)... Lol.

That makes me hope the Drudge poll actually IS accurate!

    2. I'm surprised Fox brought up the Trump being wrong about vaccines.

Now I'm going to see what Coulter & Hannity have to say (I never thought I'd write those words). I assume they're going to be pro-Trump, but we'll see.

    3. Ann didn't disappoint: pro-Trump as expected. They brought up this:

    4. While digging into Ann Coulter's Jewish tweets, I found this from 2009, which ends with a prescient "expect the craziness to get worse before it gets better." Lol
