Yesterday, Chuck Todd went on and on about how Hillary's 'Inevitable campaign has gotten kind of evitable.'
Everyone at the table including liberal Democrat historian extraordinaire Doris Kearns Goodwin got a big chuckle out of that.
Yet they never actually showed she's not inevitable anymore.
But in truth regarding the media's coverage of Hillary what's really inevitable is that there coverage will be unfair, uncharitable, and grossly inaccurate.
The basis for this new claim that Hillary is in Big Trouble, Really Big Trouble, is that she's losing in NH and 'only up by 11 in Iowa.' And that's it, really.
Despite the history of candidates who have lost either state and gone on to win the nomination-Mondale, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Mitt Romney, Bob Dole.
I mean neither of these states have proven to be kingmakers despite their high profiles. Both states are advantageous for Bernie as they are full of white liberals and not many minority voters.
He very well could win NH but this hardly proves much by itself. On a national level she still has a big lead over him.
Yet, by the way Todd and the rest of the media are framing this, you'd think maybe it's inevitable that she;s not going to win.
In party this is just because the media wants to make the Democratic primary much more suspenseful than it is. So they grasp onto straws about Biden running-even though his recent public statements sure don't sound like it-based on nothing but 'anonymous sources' and ride the emailgate hobby horse.
The latest outrage in their minds is that IT guy from the State Department took the Fifth! I mean how more guilty can you get?! This reminds me of Stephen A. Smith who thought Tom Brady must be guilty or of course he would make his case in public rather than in front of a judge.
Smith also didn't get why Brady failed to 'cooperate' with Roger Goodell and hand him over his phone so that Goodell could find which messages with which he could incriminate him with.
Smith never heard of due process and the Beltway media clearly hasn't either or they wouldn't act so silly when someone exercises their constitutional rights.
In this country you're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty-unless you're Hillary Clinton and the media has set itself the task of being her primary opponent and show the uppity bitch her comeuppance come hell or high water.
In this regard, Michael Tomasky is a welcome beacon within a larger desert of ignorance.

Again, part of this is Hillary hatred but part of it is simply that they want to claim there is suspense even though there isn't any.
Whether or not the public is better off being lied to this way by a press that is supposed to accurately inform the public is a question that isn't asked.
But even this formation here shows the same false and misleading framing-aka, lying-of the Beltway press.

I don't need to go any further to make my point. This is already a lie in creating a false equivalence between the two candidates. True, both are sagging badly in the polls, the difference being that there were very high expectations of Walker and no one really expected O'Malley to do much.
Walker was supposed to be one of the three seroius establishment GOP candidates-along with Jeb and Rubio-and all three have had a cruel summer-the latest polls show the Very Serious Trio with 15% total vote.

Note though even the link above insists on mentioning Bernie beating Hillary in NH-which is not new-rather than how poorly the GOP establishment is doing.
Again, it just shows they are desperate to frame things in as anti Hillary fashion as possible.
