Hillary Jokes About Bill Being Her Veep

I know the Beltway press loves to go on about how 'inauthentic' she is-Melissa Perry-Harris went as far as saying that Sarah Palin is authentic but Hillary isn't.

In many ways this is just a dog whistle for misogynists a way to diminish a strong, powerful woman. I've often argued that Hillary continues to make many 'even on the Left' uncomfortable because she is an ambitious politician.

I mean you have to be ambitious to succeed in politics-despite what Bernie likes to think-but I think many find this off-putting in a woman.

Yes, I know St. Elizabeth Warren is canonized but this is because she's not a saint not a politician. In Hillary we see a woman who is principled and cares deeply about  making the American Dream available to many of the disadvantaged-that's what makes her and Bill's marriage so sweet-they have this deeper bond than most marriages which often fray after the initial sexual infatuation fades because they share not just bodies but mutually shared ideal.

But she's also driven and ambitious. She wants to win and likes to win and many on the Left too are put off by this. Many women are put off by this who don't really so much want women to become more ambitious as men to become less so.

Anyway, here is Hillary being herself no matter what the boobirds may say:

"A double Clinton ticket has "crossed" Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s mind, but she believes the Constitution would prevent her husband Bill from being her running mate."

"He would be good, but he's not eligible; under the Constitution, he has served his two terms and I think the argument would be as vice president it would not be possible for him to ever succeed to the position — at least that's what I've been told,” Clinton told Extra’s Mario Lopez in portions of an interview released Monday. “It has crossed my mind."

"Clinton also joked about hip-hop artist Kanye West's announcement that he had decided to run for president in 2020."

“If I'm going for my second term, [I would ask him] to wait four years, but if I'm not... be sure he has comfortable shoes because there's a lot of walking involved," she said.

"Clinton said that she had met West’s wife, reality star Kim Kardashian, at one of her fundraisers in Los Angeles — where their infamous selfie was taken — and she “really enjoyed meeting her.”

I'm also a big fan of Kourtney Kardsashian and it's nice to see Hillary hand with Kim Kardashian-another often libeled ambitious woman of power.

In all honesty I still don't know that I like that rule on limiting Presidents to two terms-it was all about the GOP's sour grapes over FDR.

"Hillary also came out against sexual harassment and rape on campus which is a very burning issue.

Hillary Clinton returned to Iowa Monday for a one-day campaign visit, where she addressed campus sexual assault for the first time since hitting the trail.

"Her proposals, which she outlined at University of Northern Iowa, were in line with initiatives that have been proposed by President Barack Obama, as well as the Campus Accountability and Safety Act, a bipartisan bill co-sponsored by Sen. Claire McCaskill, Kirsten Gillibrand, Dean Heller -- and even Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio and Sen. Chuck Grassley, who has been leading an investigation into Clinton’s use of email at the State Department. The bill is currently pending in Congress."

"Speaking from behind a “Women for H” sign, Clinton said that sexual assault had a huge impact on young women’s lives, noting that it causes some to “drop out, some never finish their education." It’s not enough to condemn campus sexual assault, we need to end campus sexual assault, for the “young women [who] are truly lost and left out” because of an inadequate response to a serious women's rights issue."

Clinton said as president she would “fight to make sure every campus offers every survivor the support she needs,” and also noted that “although survivors of sexual assault are predominantly women, this also happens to men.”

I mentioned eariler that she she should hit Bernie on immigration as it's a weak spot.

Obviously women's issues she will want to hit very hard.

By the way for any bedwetters among Hillary's supporters she still is in very good shape according to the latest ABC poll. The news on her emails is mixed. Most respondents buy that she did someting wrong in her handling of emails but the good news is they nevertheless don't consider it an important issue in the campaign.

"ThePost/ABC poll also finds that Hillary Clinton still leads Bernie Sanders among Dems nationally, 42-24, though her support has dropped sharply. Joe Biden gets 21 percent. Note this:"

"A majority of Americans (55 percent) say they disapprove of the way Clinton has handled questions about her use of a private e-mail account while serving as secretary of state. An almost identical percentage (54 percent) say that she has tried to cover up facts. Asked whether Clinton stayed within government guidelines or broke the rules by using a private server, 51 percent say she broke the rules, while 32 percent say she did not, with the remainder offering no opinion."

"And yet, a plurality of Americans say the email issue is not a legitimate one in the presidential election, 49-44."

So at least their half right. I mean what does it mean though to say that you 'don't approve of the way she handled questions?' How would they like her to 'handle it?'

The people of course can be duped. I always remember Michael Kinsley's epic piece after Bush I beat Dukakis in 1988: Democracy Can Goof.

But in all fairness to the respondents the question is pretty awkward: Do you approve of the way Hillary Clinton has handled the claim that she used private email just like everyone else in government?
