Dick Cheney: Don't Know Much About Reverse Psychology and the Iran Deal

Economists tell us that correlation doesn't prove causation-though at least it opes up the possibility.

1. Dick Cheney comes out and lectures us on how evil and feckless the President's Iran Deal is

2. A swell of Democrats come out for the deal giving them 42-and so enough to filibuster. the GOP bill to kill the deal.

"The stampede of Democrats who came out for the Iran deal today did so just after Dick Cheney gave a speech in which he floated military action as an alternative to the agreement."

"It’s hard to imagine any opponent of the deal could have done anything more useful than that to help it move forward."

3. The Obama Administration put up a video of Dick Cheney's arguments on the front page of WhiteHouse.Gov

"Timed to a speech given by former Vice President Dick Cheney slamming President Obama's Iran deal, the White House released a video highlighting Cheney's continual defense of the Iraq war."

"The two-and-a-half-minute video titled "Former Vice President Dick Cheney: Wrong Then, Wrong Now" -- which was featured prominently on the White House homepage Tuesday -- spares no punches."

"It begins with a Fox News host asking Cheney last week why anyone who believes Cheney was wrong on Iraq should listen to him about the Iran deal."

"Because I was right about Iraq," Cheney said.

"It then segues into the abundant news clips from the run-up to Iraq War in which Cheney offers scores of claims first urging then defending military action -- from touting the presence of weapons of mass destruction to predicting that Iraqis would great American troops "as liberators."

"I don't look at it as that we got it so wrong," Cheney says in a 2009 clip when pressed by CBS' Bob Schieffer.

"To a point from ABC News' Martha Raddatz in 2008 that two-thirds of Americans say that the Iraq war is not worth fighting for, Cheney says with a smirk, "So?"

"In his speech at the American Enterprise Institute Tuesday, Cheney reiterated his opposition to the Iran deal and suggested only the threat of military action would prevent Iran from developing its nuclear weapons program."

Maybe Cheney will agree to campaign for Jeb. Tomorrow Sarah Palin and Glen Beck will come out to speak against the Iran Deal in Congress tomorrow. If only I were joking.

Right, because these are the folks that are going to convince on the fence Democrats to reconsider support of the Iran deal.
