Wow. That was fun. The back and forth with Trump and Cruz over the birther thing. Cruz did come back good with Trump by pointing out that Trump's own mother was born in Scotland so under those terms he himself wouldn't be a citizen.
Funny Tom Brown was just saying someone ought to finally accuse Trump of not being a citizen.
But Trump came back on him pretty good as well and said he just worried about him as a lot of 'smart legal people' say otherwise. Trump insists that what matters is that Cruz himself was physically from another country.
Cruz called Laurence Tribe a 'liberal who was Al Gore's lawyer in 2000' but Trump pointed out that he also happened to be his own teacher back in law school.

Then Rubio pipes up that this is not what this election is about.
You know, Rubio doesn't do his Senate job and hasn't been out campaigning in NH and Iowa much. Now it seems he may have slept through the whole thing as this GOP primary has been exactly about that.
Where you are from and whether or not you belong here. That's the primary in a nutshell and is why Trump is leading.
And of course the birthers are after Rubio as well.

It's too bad both Trump and Cruz didn't turn on Rubio at that point with birther allegations against him! ... and then Rubio reverse himself in a matter of seconds with pre-canned birther jibes at both Cruz and Trump!... Haha
ReplyDeleteAlso, I had no idea about Trump's mother. That's pretty good. I was just thinking they could accuse him of being too close to a foreign spy (his wife).
BTW, can you imagine the founding fathers watching presidential candidates debating who's mother was or was not a US citizen and when? They'd be amazed. A nation of immigrants insisting on immigration free purity.
