Well Trump did defend and stand by him before the judge exonerated him so I'm guessing part of it is he appreciates that, In any case, Trump actually sent it to him-it's not like he went out and bought it.
"Yes, that is a Donald Trump hat in Tom Brady's locker."
"The New England Patriots starting quarterback confirmed in a Tuesday radio interview that he does have a red "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN" cap."
"He sent it to me via R.K.K.," Brady told Boston's WEEI, referring to Patriots owner Robert Kraft. "He always gives me a call and different types of motivational speeches at different times. So now that he's running for president, he sent me a hat, and he gave it to R.K.K. a couple weeks ago. So it found its way to my locker."
The four-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL MVP said the Republican presidential candidate is a good friend but declined to say whether he has his vote.
"I mean it's pretty amazing what he's been able to accomplish," Brady said, adding that their friendship dates back to 2002. "He obviously appeals to a lot of people, and he's a hell of a lot of fun to play golf with."
"After a judge overturned Brady's four-game suspension related to the Deflategate case last Thursday, Trump said he called Brady and offered his support.

"He's a very honorable guy and an honest guy and a truly great athlete. He is really a very good friend of mine, and I just spoke to him a little while ago. He was so thrilled and so happy," Trump said during a press conference last Thursday. "I think what they've done is terrible, and he's been exonerated, is what I understand, 'cause I just heard about it. But I'm very happy for Tom."
As far as NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and his office, Trump added last week, "they're having a very rough year."

See, this is the thing with Trump. As appalling is his talk of deporting 11 million immigrants is-though this is in line with the implicit view of the entire Republican party-he makes a lot of sense in a lot of other things.
In fact, even as he calls for such a radical upheaval on immigration, he at the same time is calling for us to take in some Syrian immigrants. So to go with a very inhumane immigration policy he's calling for some humaneness for Syrian refugees.

Brady was smart enough not to say who's going to vote for-if he votes at all, which he should do, but who knows?
Seriously, someone who has been as fortunate as Tom Brady should vote-but lots of rich folks don't which is a real mistake. You have the most to lose and most need this system to work.
P.S. Ok, I confess. I have a Trump shirt-actually a couple. My main man Kev has a hat. We were out at Buffalo Wild Wings watching the NFL preseason last week me with my red shirt, he with his red hat-and our other buddy, Artie had a red shirt.
I told you I'm King of all Trump Democrats-it wasn't hyperbole. Even I kind of wondered where this little social experimentation might go when I wore the shirt into the supermarket.

There are a lot of Latino families there with their kids. I was thinking as I pushed my cart down the aisle, 'Holy shit. Do they think I want to deport them all or their families?'
My one saving grace is a kind of look Latino-I'm actually a mulatto; usually people think I'm either Hispanic or Italian.
But the funny thing is I'm doing it for them. I'm playing 11 dimensional chess in being a Trump Democrat and I do believe the ultimate effect will be a breakthrough on immigration. I think that Trump has opened Pandora's Box now and the genie will never be put back in the bottle.
The GOP will no longer be able to dissemble on immigration in the future, I think.
P.S.S. To be sure, there are people who just don't get irony at all. Everything has to be entirely exoteric or they are just totally confused. So they see the shirt and they probably hate my guts.
But then that's part of the fun too-the straight men-and straight women; I find that women tend to less appreciate the gag.
At my gym-Export Fitness-the young-white-kid there seemed to get right away I was wearing the shirt ironically.
