Republicans for Hillary Unite

Republicans disgusted with your own party for nominating Donald Trump? Welcome home. You are very welcome here.

With all the talk of Reagan Democrats, we now have a new breed: the Hillary Republicans.

Some are like Erick Erickson are going with the lesser of two evils is still evil view:

"Neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump should be acceptable to any principled conservative or evangelical Christian. As Charles Spurgeon said, "Of two evils, choose neither." Neither candidate is fit for office."

But others like former McCain adviser Mark Salter are deciding that they're With Her.

It's amazing how many great tweets I'm RTing this morning from GOPers utterly disgusted with what their party has come to.

Republicans consider Clinton over Trump

‘If this is who my party is, I don’t really identify with it anymore,’ one Republican says.

“The hour of reckoning for the Never Trump movement is now before us,” said Steve Schmidt, the GOP strategist who ran McCain’s 2008 campaign. “There are scores of these people who say they’ll still support the GOP nominee. That has been an incongruent position for some time, but never more so than it is now.”

"Schmidt predicted that “a substantial amount of Republican officials who have worked in Republican administrations, especially on issues of defense and national security, will endorse Hillary Clinton in the campaign.”

Republican women are disgusted:

"If we nominate Trump, [the party] is lost beyond this cycle. I think we lose women for a generation, in big numbers,” said Katie Packer, who served as Romney’s deputy campaign manager and now leads Our Principles super PAC, which spent $10 million in an effort to stop Trump.

“There’s a feeling among Republican women that I talk to that the people who would nominate this guy don’t have any real respect for us as women — especially professional women. They would rather see us in a “Mad Men” era, where women knew their place and catered to their husband, cooked dinner and met their sexual obligations and didn’t have any other role in society. And there are other people who are supporting him because the guy’s a blatant racist and they identify with that."

“So there’s a sense that, if this is who my party is, I don’t really identify with it anymore.”

There are many Republicans who remain committed to NeverTrump-even if he is the nominee of their own party.

"I'm willing, if need be, to vote Hillary. That's how strong my disdain is for Trump #NeverTrump"

Ben Howe:

"I think people that are saying you can be #NeverTrump and #NeverHillary at the same time aren’t being honest with themselves."

2016 is the year we stop talking about Reagan Democrats and start talking about Hillary Republicans.

  1. Mike, good idea welcoming Hillary Republicans into the fold.

It's interesting to me that the #NeverTrump movement itself is bitterly divided between those who want to learn this from the Trump nightmare:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2016/05/04/the-upside-to-the-gops-crackup/

And those like Erickson who still think lack of religious and ideological purity are the problems.

  2. Did you see this one about Glenn Beck?
    http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presidential-race/2016/05/04/glenn-beck-ends-fast/

"Beck was often harshly critical of Evangelical Christian voters for not supporting Cruz, stating at one point that “real Christians” don’t support Donald Trump and that “all throughout the South the Evangelicals are not listening to their God” because Cruz lost the Southern primaries to Trump.

Indeed, the fervor of Beck’s support for Cruz has been matched only by the vehemence of his opposition to Trump. He has called the New York real estate mogul “a pathological narcissistic sociopath” and “a narcissistic psychopath” whose presidency “will lead to civil war or worse.”

He has also repeatedly compared Trump to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, asserting that Trump’s populist policies were “the makings of Adolf Hitler.”"

Well, I guess God hates Beck. Too bad. He'll burn forever screaming in unending agony for all eternity, alongside his "God damned" hero Cruzifer. (Does god have a special oven/torture chamber right there on planet Kolob?)

    1. Maybe all those Southern evangelicals Beck is upset with for not being "true Christians" weren't aware of God's oven/torture chamber on Kolob??? I think Beck should let them know!! All true Christians deserve to know those vital facts!

  3. Mike: I don't know if I already expressed this thought in a comment somewhere on your blog, so forgive me if I'm repeating myself.

As you know the #NeverTrump crowd has drawn up an enemies list of people who they think have stabbed Jesus, America and freedom in the face by supporting Trump. And they've vowed never to forgive them or ever speak to them again (as far as I can tell). Those on the list shall be henceforth forevermore shunned as sub-human, God hating, scum, beneath all contempt. On that list are: Ann Coulter, Chris Christie, Jerry Falwell Jr., Sean Hannity and Fox News in general (aside from Megan Kelly and a few others). Even a few are almost on the list for not being vehement enough in their hatred of Trump, or their enabling of Trump in some way: Mike Pence (because he didn't support Cruz soon enough), John Boehner (obviously, because he dumped on God's anointed one: Ted Cruz... calling him "Lucifer!"... the OUTRAGE!), Reince Priebus, Rush Limbaugh, etc.

So how will this crowd feel about Cruz when and if he supports Trump (like he already promised to Jesus he'd do)??? Lol... this election season is the gift that keeps on giving isn't it? The internecine resentments being built up over this on the right are going to (hopefully) linger for years if not decades to come.

Here's RedState reminding people of the #NeverTrump commitment and that wafflers (like Bobby Jindal) need shunning for their hatred of God and all around general evil.

  4. Jeez, is Rubin actually trying to give HRC useful advice here? (Not that she should necessarily take it, but still...)

  5. Again, this is why I became a Trump Democrat.

  6. I will say this, I don't agree with her on all her advice, but she has some very good ideas.

I especially agree with her that Hillary ought to hit him on his tax returns and keep a daily countdown on how many days we are still waiting for it.

This is great. The Dems are great at demanding to see that tax returns. We did it to Mitt Romney in 2012, we've been doing it to Bernie and his wife in the primary.

Now we get to use it against Trump.
