We can debate Dem strategy. I agree with this post that contrary to what Bernie has tried to argue, Hillary will be the perfect opponent for Trump. As no one has been more relentlessly, ruthlessly, not to say viciously vetted than her.
"Donald Trump and his allies are lashing out at House Speaker Paul Ryan for his refusal to back — for now — the presumptive Republican nominee, with Trump’s spokeswoman even declaring Ryan unfit for his job."
"During a phone interview with Fox News on Friday morning, Trump said he was “very, very surprised” at Ryan’s comments."
“It’s hard to believe,” he said, adding, “It doesn’t bother me at all.”
"His tweets, however, suggest otherwise."
“So many great endorsements yesterday, except for Paul Ryan!” Trump tweeted. “We must put America first and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
"Roughly 90 minutes later, Trump came back with a sharp critique of another comment Ryan made Thursday."
“Paul Ryan said that I inherited something very special, the Republican Party. Wrong, I didn't inherit it, I won it with millions of voters!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
"The subtle difference Trump highlighted was a piercing remark that speaks to the rift between mainstream Republicans and the polarizing, unconventional candidate who has risen to become the face of the party. His proposal to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. and refusal to disavow David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan led to Ryan’s implicit rebuke of the candidate throughout the primary, but Trump’s rhetoric has resonated with millions of voters, who have come out in droves across the country to support his candidacy."
"Trump has said it’s imperative to unite the party — though he’s pushed back against complete unity, emphasizing that certain Republicans who have been critical of him should go their own way. During an interview with Sirius XM and “Breitbart News Daily,” Trump said on Friday morning that he liked Ryan but expressed some reservations about his most recent critic."
“He’s doing it under the banner of unity, when in actuality that's the opposite of unity,” Trump said of Ryan’s remarks. “I've also had many people say that I'm better off, but I don't believe that. I think we should have unity. I think it would be better to have him. But it's just too bad. Many people think I'm better off. Who knows?”

Indeed. Who knows. You know who is better off? The Democrats.
Trump is also lashing out at Morning Joe:
"Now that he is the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump has begun calling out those who were not always 100 percent in his corner."
"Joe Scarborough initially endorsed Jeb Bush and Jeb crashed, then John Kasich and that didn't work," Trump tweeted Friday afternoon. "Not much power or insight!"
"Scarborough retweeted the message."
"Less than 30 minutes later, Trump wrote, "I hear @JoeNBC of rapidly fading @Morning_Joe is pushing hard for a third party candidate to run. This will guarantee a Crooked Hillary win."
"This time, Scarborough engaged:
"You heard wrong, cowboy. We talk about scenarios. Never fear. MJ is going to beat CNN for the 7th straight year! https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/728651908563517440 …
"I also said very clearly that good conservatives have legitimate reasons for being in the #NeverTrump column."

By the way: this is what the Democratic party would look like today if Bernie Sanders had won the nomination. A Democratic party civil war. That we didn't go down this rabbit hole points to the fundamental difference between the Democratic and Republican parties today.

But a big part of how to approach Trump is very simple. Just let Trump be Trump. Let him punch himself out. More importantly, let him punch the GOP out.
Democrats should just get out of the way. I talked in my previous posts today about the sense in which Trump is going to give Dems the ultimate 50 state strategy.
The name Donald Trump. He is the ultimate bloody shirt by which every Republican running for office will stand condemned.

Just like the GOP until 1930 used to run against the Civil War until 1932. Then the Dems started running against Great Depression. Then the GOP started running against the 60s.
Now the Dems can start running against Donald Trump.
Speaking of the Civil War, the GOP are still very much having their own.
Trump is not happy that Paul Ryan has withheld his endorsement for now and is firing back:
