Nancy Pelosi Votes for Hillary Clinton and Then She Endorses Her

I should say she's voted and now endorsed the presumptive Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton. Say this for Pelosi. She may have seemed to dawdle but her timing is impeccable-on the day of the California primary."

"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California finally endorsed Hillary Clinton ahead of her state's primary on Tuesday, and even weighed in on the growing calls for the former secretary of state to choose Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren as her running mate."

"It would be "fabulous" for two women to be on the ticket, Pelosi said — though she hastened to note that the choice was Clinton's to make."

Two women on the ticket. Hm. What's Pelosi doing the next four years?

As Politco's Gabriel Debendetti observed yesterday:

Don't expect an endorsement flood from holdouts—Obama, Biden, Warren—just yet. Makes more sense for Team HRC to get 3 individual bounces."

True, and Pelosi endorsement is the first bounce.

"Well I'm a voter in California and I have voted for Hillary Clinton for president of the United States and proud to endorse her for that position," Pelosi said on ABC's "Good Morning America," hours after The Associated Press and television networks said Clinton had reached the necessary number of delegates to clinch the nomination. "But I hasten to say that it's not over 'til it's over. Californians haven't voted, nor have others in five states. So while the nomination may be there in the numbers in terms of superdelegates, I didn't endorse yet because I am a superdelegate and I think that the matter should be determined by the voters in the state."

Jamil Smith got it right last night:

"Don't lose the history of this moment. A woman will be the presidential nominee of a major party. First of many, I hope."

Are you listening Bernie?

"We've had two men over and over again for hundreds of years," Pelosi said. "I think that two women, whoever they may be, that would be fabulous as well but Hillary Clinton will choose the person that she feels most comfortable with."

"In a statement emailed to reporters, Pelosi praised Clinton's demonstrated "commitment to children, to working families and to a brighter future for America" while calling on Bernie Sanders and his supporters to bring their message under the party tent."

Stop being a crab, Bernie and recognize history.

P.S. To show you the difference between the parties consider: as Nancy Pelosi endorses Hillary and the other big Dems choreograph the sequence of the coming endorsements, Lindsay Graham is wondering if there's a way for Republicans to take their endorsements back.
