Ted Cruz Goes Full Tilt Over JFK Conspiracy Involving his Dad

Wow. This has been the most awesome primary ever-and I've been following since I was nine years old-that was the worst as Jimmy Carter got blown out by Reagan.

Yesterday Ted Cruz got razzed by Trump supporters. He also said that a young Trump supporter heckling him deserves a spanking.

http://lastmenandovermen.blogspot.com/2016/05/if-ted-cruz-loses-tonight-hes-done.html

Yet today Cruz took it to the next level. Ok, Trump certainly provoked him well. He just wondered where Cruz''s Dad, Rafael Cruz, might have been on November 22, 1963. He cited a picture that showed the elder Cruz with Lee Harvey Oswald.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/05/03/how-on-earth-is-the-media-supposed-to-cover-trumps-wacky-jfk-cruz-conspiracy-theory/?postshare=7751462301690642&tid=ss_tw

Here's what I find interesting about Ted Cruz's response. He said this claim is absurd and based on the National Enquirer. He neither confirmed or denied whether his Dad hung with Oswald. So I don't know what to believe...

In Cruz's long rambling press conference, where he ripped into Trump as a liar, a phony, as amoral, and of course a liberal, a few things struck me.

By the way, here is the press conference.

1. Ted Cruz is a very frustrated man. He needs 133 percent of the remaining delegates to win the nomination. In other words, he has no path to victory outside of some kind of RNC coup in Cleveland in July. But as unpopular as he is with his own party-we see the high regard John Boehner has for him-why would the GOP waste a perfectly good coup on Ted Cruz?

Trump doesn't need to win tonight-it obviously would help a lot-but Cruz desperately needs it. Yet, the polls have all-save one that showed him up by 15!-show him trailing, sometimes by double digits, in the most recent two polls he trailed by 16 and 17 points respectively.

There is now talk that if Cruz bombs tonight, if Trump manages to even clean the state of all 57 delegates, Cruz could even be forced from the race. Not by choice but because the #NeverTrump people will turn off his money spigot.

2. While this is a real shark jumping moment for Ted Cruz, at the same time as his demise, he also gave some great oppo for Hillary Clinton and her team.

Cruz talked about how Trump has bragged about being a serial philanderer, and told Howard Stern that his fight with venereal diseases is his own Vietnam.

Cruz also pointed out that while he calls Bill Clinton a predator now, in 1998 he defended Bill and claimed it was a conspiracy of ugly women like Linda Tripp and Monica Lewinsky.

This is all very true. Trump was clearly for sexual predators before he was against them.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/05/02/donald-trump-in-1998-bill-clinton-is-a-victim-of-unattractive-women.html

This is all just the tip of the iceberg. We have the book by Ivana Trump in the early 1990s where she claimed Trump raped her for a bad hair day of all things. If only we were kidding. She sent him to a hairstylist that Trump felt 'fucked up his hair' and he forced violent sex on her to show her how it feels.

Certainly this is the man to warn us about predators, much less hold a wife accountable for the infidelities of her husband. So when Trump goes full Monica Lewinsky the next time-you know it's coming-she and her team should just play that Ted Cruz video. Trump is a serial philanderer who joked about getting a venereal disease and was accused of marital rape.

There's your sexual predator.

3. If Ted Cruz gets beat or even shutout in Indiana tonight and is forced out soon, this will get embarrassing for Bernie Sanders. Why exactly is he holding on in that case as he says that first of all he doesn't want a Donald Trump Presidency?

If you're telling me the GOP is going to unite behind Donald Trump before we Dems unite around Hillary Clinton, there is something wrong with this picture.

Here is an interview Greg Sargent had with Tad Devine today. Devine admits that barring a 'big shift in the race' he's not going to be able to flip any super delegates. But how big a shift would it take? She has 2165 out of 2383 needed delegates. In truth there are 193 SDs outstanding that we know roughly 180 will go to her.

That puts her at 2345 out of 2385. Even if he 'wins' tonight by two points, that still leaves her with about 45 more delegates for the night. So in truth she will already have 2383-when you factor in SDs-which counted for Obama in 2008 and always have after Devine himself pioneered them as Walter Mondale's campaign manger in 1984.

If the GOP is already uniting behind Trump, I think it's very hard for Bernie to keep pretending he has a path to victory. Most Democrats are going to want to unify ASAP.

  1. Mike, I've been soaking up the wailing and gnashing of teeth over at RedState. It's delicious.

Some think that Jesus must be about to return. Some think that God has given up on America (because we hate Jesus so much by letting transsexuals in the wrong bathrooms). Some are advocating buying your guns and get prepared to go to jail for your faith (Oh, the evangelicals ... they really have to feel like they're being persecuted so they can feel some solidarity with Jesus and the early Christians I guess). Some are bemoaning Fox news, and conspiracy nuts, and the other assorted morons and white trash that support Trump and his crazy ideas... and then turning around and saying that Obama is a Marxist. Many say they are no longer Republicans. A few cries of #DraftPerry. Many are writing off the GOP for good, and the white house and the senate and congress and the supreme court... they think that their country is gone... for at least 30 years... and who knows what will remain of it when the long nightmare is over.

What a bunch of wankers. I'm loving every minute of it.

    1. Now I'm going to check out Erickson's "The Resurgent"... 10:1 odds there'll be some Bible quotes up... 8:1 they'll bee from the book of Revelations.

    2. I was wrong on both scores! No Bible verses on the front page... but there was this delicious headline by Erickson himself.

The closest I saw to cult like incantations was calling Trump supporters "Branch Trumpidians."

    3. ... meanwhile Rubin seems like she's looking for a 3rd party to fight on.

    4. I have to say, for all Erickson's whiny self-pitying religiosity usually on display over there, he's sounding less deluded than Rubin today:

    5. His "Cruz is out" article is short and sweet, with this bitter lead in:

"Ted Cruz is ending his Presidential campaign.

That is a sad way to end the Republican Party, handing it over to a man supported by white supremacists and neo-Nazis."

    6. ... Oooo, I so hope I can find some video of Glenn Beck crying and blubbering about "God, why have you forsaken me???"

    7. Silent on Beck's twitter feed. I suppose he's still too teary eyed to see the screen.

There was this though (obviously a little dated):

"Ted Cruz: Country Is Looking to the Hoosier State to Pull Us Back From the Abyss http://ow.ly/4no3Mm "

    8. Mark Levin call's Trump's accusations "Pathetic, outrageous"... but other than that "radio silence" on his twitter feed.

It makes me thing of all those months that Ted didn't say a word against Donald (when just about everyone else was). Lol... I'd like to see a video mashup of Ted's refusal to say even the tiniest bit negative about Donald last Summer ... given ample opportunities to do so, and his rant against him today.

  2. I saw some other conservatives on Twitter say that this morning
