That was how Jamil Smith put it and that says it all.

It's over. Bernie is doing a John Kasich who also won't admit it's over.-Cruz dropped out tonight but not Kasich. But it is. In the progressively more tortured explanations of why Bernie should get the nomination even though he's lost by landslide numbers in terms of actual votes and delegates, the new theory is that the states that vote first are less important.
The states that vote last are increasingly more important. Of course, NY and Pennsylvania just voted which should be pretty important right? But Bernie has now decided that the states which matter are Indiana, Oregon, West Virginia-and if he wins California, this will be very important. If not, then there will be some reason not to count Cali.
Bernie ought to do a Ted Cruz but will again falsely claim to have unstoppable 'momentum.'
As for the GOP, what can I say? Those reading me last Summer like Tom Brown can attest, I was on the Trump Democrat thing very early.

In the next few days and weeks you are going to hear all the alarmists warn that the Dems shouldn't be gloating. Trump has a real good shot at beating her.
They will point out that 'We all discounted him in the GOP primary too.' And that's my, uh, Trump Card. I never discounted him in the GOP primary. My belief was always that he was a real threat to win the GOP primary but that Hillary would beat him soundly in the general.
Nothing has happened since then that makes me feel differently. So don't tell me I'm wrong to think Trump gets creamed in the general because I thought the same thing in the primary. No, I did not.
Most people did, but I am most certainly not most people. LOL
The beauty of Trump's appeal is that it is exactly inverse between the GOP primary electorate and the general electorate. The very things that he does that makes his approval numbers soar in the primary will be the death of him in the general.
As Nate Cohn says:
"Trump v. Clinton. America, we're really doing this."

We are. No, I was not careful about wishing for this and I won't regret it. Dems are celebrating Trump's win tonight more than GOPers are.

As for Indiana, remember, Hillary spent nothing in the state primary. The demographics were typical. Bernie got the kids, she won AAs 76-24.

But what she is going is already mobilizing for Donald Trump.

She's already working on a shadow general election campaign.
