As a general rule, I think there is something to trying not to use Hitler analogies too much. But even if not everything is like Hitler that doesn't mean nothing is either.
Republicans also often claim things are like slavery which are nothing like it. But this doesn't mean that you never make a slavery analogy.
But Donald Trump renders Godwin's law inoperative for this election.

If there is a time you want to use Hitler analogies it's now. So kudos to Meg Whitman:
"During an exclusive Republican gathering here on Friday, billionaire mega-donor Meg Whitman challenged Paul Ryan over his endorsement of Donald Trump – and, in doing so, compared the presumptive GOP presidential nominee to Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini."
"Whitman and Ryan are present for Experts and Enthusiasts, an annual summit convened here by Mitt Romney that brings together his top donors and major political figures. Part of the day’s program included a discussion session between Ryan and former broadcast journalist Campbell Brown."
"At one point, according to two sources, during a question and answer session, Whitman, the billionaire chief executive officer of Hewlett Packard, challenged Ryan over his decision to support Trump. In framing the question, according to the sources, she compared Trump to past historical demagogues including Hitler and Mussolini."
"In responding to the question, Ryan pointed out that he’s criticized Trump in the past. But, as the House Republican leader, he stressed that he had a complex job and had to lead an entire conference."

I'm not saying Ryan has an easy choice. But to publicly endorse Donald Trump has a chance of damaging his own brand. Support for Trump is something you never get to take back.
Meanwhile Mitt Romney talks about Trump's 'trickle down racism.'

Hillary can just sit back and let the Republicans run against him. What is more gold than that in a general election?
If this is what Republicans say about their own party's nominee, independents will take that to heart as will a number of Republicans.
Yesterday Trump declared that 'no one is less racist than me.' Right. He's not just non-racist but the most non-racist ever. He's less racist against blacks than blacks themselves.
In other news, he has no regrets in calling Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas.
Donald Trump has no regrets about calling Sen. Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas,” he said Friday.
"None whatsoever," Trump told NBC News when asked if he had any regrets about his comments.
