There's a Reason We Know all This Stuff

Good come back from Chuck Todd interviewing Mike Pence on Meet the Press. The show is today but part of the pretaped has been previewed.

Mike Pence made the absurd comment that Hillary is the most dishonest Presidential candidate since Richard Nixon.

Which is absurd on a number of levels. First of all, Donald Trump is by far the most dishonest. He lies at a dizzying pace that you'd hardly think was possible. According to Politifacts he lies egregiously about 70% of the time; those are just the worst. He makes comments that are at least somewhat misleading another 21% of the time.

And it seems that in working for Trump you also have to be very dishonest like Trump's African-American, Mark Burns.

Burns who put up that very offensive picture of Hillary with blackface had to walk out of the CNN interview after he was called on lying about his military service.

His explanation? Maybe hackers puffed up his resume. But Trump hires only the best people.

So when Pence claims HRC is dishonest much less the most dishonest that takes some real chutzpah. Pence's own running mate is the most dishonest. As for Tricky Dick, at least he released his tax returns.

Anyway, when Pence started going through a litany of Hillary's alleged sins, Todd pointed out that 'There's a reason we know this stuff.'

The reason being: she released her tax returns. So Todd had him. Pence's answer was that he and Trump are going to release their tax returns finally.

Great, but the 64 million dollar question is when:

"Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence said he will release his full tax returns next week and maintains Donald Trump will release his tax returns — following the completion of the GOP nominee's IRS audit."

"Donald Trump and I are both going to release our tax returns," Pence said in an interview with NBC's "Meet The Press" host Chuck Todd to be broadcast Sunday. "I'll release mine in the next week and Donald Trump will be releasing his tax returns at the completion of an audit."

Todd interrupted Pence in regards to Trump's tax returns, saying "That won't be until after the election?"

"Well we'll see," Pence said.

We'll see is not much of an answer. This audit excuse is also nonsense. If he's being audited let's have some evidence of that. the IRS has said he can release them even if he's being audited.

Why is he being audited? From what he says, he's audited most every year. Is that a quality we want in a President? How does he call Hillary dishonest if he is audited every year and won't give any disclosure on this?

Why won't he release previous years?

I'm glad Todd called him on this. There is a reason we know so much about Hillary: despite what the Beltway narrative says, she has been very transparent.

In any case, as Trump has had no transparency, he shouldn't get away with smearing her on stuff that he only knows because she disclosed it.

Whenever he does it, he should be reminded that 'There's a reason we know this.'
