Strange Thoughts From the American Thinker

He sees the troubles with Greece as a failure for the Obama Administration.

"The immediate effects in the United States of the "no" vote cast by Greek voters in the referendum on the EU bailout will likely be limited – at first. American banks hold little Greek debt, so the contagion of a Greek exit from the euro would be negligible. But the Dow Jones could be in for a very rough ride, as overseas markets are sharply lower today as a result of the vote."

"Politically, it's a loss for the Obama administration, who supported the far-left Greek government's demands for debt relief and easier terms. The president made no friends in the rest of Europe by advocating this path, and because of that, the U.S. is a non-player in the crisis.

This is strange thinking-I don't know what makes it American. If the Obama thinks there should be debt relief why should he oppose it just to be a player in the crisis? This is the kind of logic only a Scott Sumner could follow.

Why also would a no vote be a defeat? So a yes would have been a victory? But Tsipras wanted a no vote so how is he getting his wish a defeat for Obama if the President supports Tsipras?

Evidently the Obama Administration first and foremost wants to avoid a Grexit:

"And while the White House is sympathetic to Greece’s calls for easier terms, the main objective in the administration is to make sure some kind of deal is made to avoid a Greek exit. The vote likely makes that goal significantly harder to achieve, making it a negative for the White House."
Mr. American Thinker also thinks that the left is in trouble. Ok.

"The point here is that it does not matter how many hours progressive activists pour into indoctrination. They always turn around and kick the very people they indoctrinated in the teeth. As soon as someone reaches adulthood, he or she joins the left’s bogeymen in the suburbs. The kicking action may be subtle. It may not always be intentional. Liberal policies alone might do the kicking. But the betrayal will be there and will open peoples’ eyes to possibilities that were not presented to them on their campus or at “Hope and Change” rallies. We as conservatives have to stay focused and exercise patience as this is a generational fight. Gently remind Millennials whenever possible and remember that the Democrats only have a message, not the harsh truth of a huge premium or disappointing net pay. We have both."

So only young people vote? That's how he explains all these liberal victories?
