This is something I've touched on before.

The fate of Greek PM cooperating with the Eurocrats is not good. Tripas' previous 2 predecessors both ended up facing electoral execution.
Accepting their poison pills is hardly beneficial for you but more like what happens to a bee after it uses its sting.
So now that Tripas is going to bat for a proposal he says he doesn't believe in and is the product of EU vindictiveness, his own political life is imperiled and there's a good chance he will meet the same fate as his 2 predecssors, including Samaras-the man he beat to assume office.

“The text we brought back from Brussels is very bad,” he said in a wide-ranging defence of his decision to accept the package. “[But] we had on the table a deal or Grexit.”
"The resulting rebellion will force the Greek prime minister to rely on votes from his centrist and centre-right opposition, who have pledged their support for the package but appear unwilling to entertain the idea of a national coalition government. Mr Tsipras will therefore have to either dump his non-compliant lawmakers after the vote, and risk having a minority administration, or tolerate their disobedience."

So he's going to have to rely on his opposition to pass this but this same opposition will have no gratitude and save his ass but let him twist in the wind.
Meanwhile in doing what the Eurocrats want and knowing that this could mean the end for him he also knows that they have not the slightest sympathy for him but see this as a feature not a bug. Just like his opposition in Parliament will take no pity on him.
That's a good description of this entire process-absolutely pitiless.
The only hope for the Greek people at this point may be Tsipras's own party's parliamentary leader-she has vowed to give him hell.
As he says this is a bad deal-why not Grexit then? Because he never even considered the option. She, however, may save the Greeks from a totally pointless capitulation-after all, the IMF itself says that without debt restructuring this is just kicking the can down the road.
"Mr Tsipras also faces a difficult time with the country’s parliamentary speaker, Zoe Konstantopoulou, one of Syriza’s most outspoken anti-austerity figures."
"Ms Konstantopoulou, known for her vicious verbal attacks on opposition MPs in parliament and her heavy-handed attitude in the chamber, did not support the prime minister’s plan to negotiate a new bailout package last week. She has the power to disrupt or delay the crucial vote, and can be removed only by a no-confidence ballot."

So she could actually maybe saver her country from a bad and pointless deal by at least delyaing this vote-in which case the pitiless Germans will declare they've reneged and pull the plug on their charity.
Desperate times like these require desperate hopes.
