So Now Do or Die Time is Sunday for Greece and the EU

More tough talk out of the EU that has Sumner oohing and aahhhing.

The Eurozone gave Greece until Sunday to come up with a new plan to save itself from bankruptcy or else get ready to leave Europe’s currency union.

The developments bring the first major reversal of European integration in 60 years a huge step closer, threatening to push crisis-stricken Greece into a chaotic reintroduction of its national currency, in a move that would be sure to wipe out the savings of millions and risk a painful cycle of devaluation and inflation."

“We have a ‘Grexit’ scenario prepared in detail,” European Commissioner Jean-Claude Juncker told a press conference, in an abrupt departure from the habits of the last five years, when it has been an article of faith for European leaders to swear that monetary union was forever.

“I’m strongly against Grexit but…I can’t prevent it if the Greek government is not doing what we expect the Greek government to do,” Juncker said.

So what we're hearing here is very familiar-pure arrogance by someone well named-Juncker! Ironic that I spoke of Nietzsche's disgust for his own country of Germany just last night.

For those who don't know the history the word Junker has a special place in German history.

According to Mr. Juncker they have a detailed Grexit plan in place. Let's hope that Greece has such a plan in place here.

There are a number of theories out there as to whether the EU is bluffing or not. Some say they are.

    http://diaryofarepublicanhater.blogspot.com/2015/07/has-tsipras-already-won.html

I think the corollary question is whether Tsipras has been bluffing. For the sake of the Greek people he better not have been. He should have a detailed Grexit strategy if that's where we go after Sunday night's unprecedented meeting.

We also get the EU"s conception of democracy. It's just the opinion of those 27 in that room that matters rather than what millions of Greek think. This is another reason to lie a Grexit actually: to take down the EU's arrogance a peg or two.
